I started rewatching the golden era of Simpsons about a month ago (seasons 4-9 imo) because my wife had never seen it. It's strange how well certain episodes (particularly Lisa-focused) hold up and how the wackier or celeb-driven ones feel a bit old hat.

Swartzwelder really is the king though - I'm on to season five now and Whacking Day + Rosebud are top tier.
