We are getting Ace Attorney Chronicles, so thats something. But yeah, a true numbered sequel to the greatest series of all time would be wonderful.

Could be saving new game announcements for other shows? There is a Switch game rumoured so that might be in the Nintendo Direct.

How many dev teams do Capcom even have?
Resident Evil Team (2 teams?)
DMC Team
Monster Hunter Team
Street Fighter Team
Small Classics Team
Assuming the Resi team/s have switched to RE4 REmake / Village DLC and Monster Hunter guys are working on a follow up to Monster Hunter World, that would mainly leave the Street Fighter and DMC teams. I wouldn’t have thought the people who work on Street Fighter work on anything but Street Fighter so that just leaves those who worked on DMC5.
It’s been two and a bit years since DMC5 and as far as I know it didn’t get any DLC so you’d have to expect they’re well onto they’re next project. Maybe we’ll hear about that.

Not DLC but DMC did get a Special Edition last year which included Virgil as a playable character.

Well, and this is pretty much guess work, if the rumours are true and the team that was doing RE4 REmake (presumably that did RE3) got trumped by the main team, then aside from RE:Verse maybe it’s what they’re working on.
RE A Team: RE7, RE2, RE8
RE B Team: Revelations 3 (Became RE8), RE3, RE4 (Got poached)
2017: RE7
2018:
2019: RE2
2020: RE3
2021: RE8
That’s a pretty mad schedule. 2022 seems like it should be a year off, especially with COVID.
