To get the 'full' story you need to complete one characters A scenario and the other characters B scenario. If you've already completed it with Leon and have Claire B unlocked then I'd suggest playing that next.

The opposite way around of Claire A and Leon B will be slightly different in terms of item placements etc. but from memory I don't think there are any exclusive areas you would miss out or anything like that.

EDIT: from the above posts it does sound like there is some variation sorry. Still, if you've only completed Leon A then Claire B should be next, and you can then do Claire A/Leon B if you want another playthrough.

Late to the party but I can’t believe I never played this on the PS1. (And now can’t imagine it to be honest, this was amazing).

The remakes of 2/3 were amazing. 2 Sammy favourite but I did enjoy 3 and the stories interlooping somewhat.

They seem totally different to Resident Evil 7 (which in VR I found terrifying in parts) and the Village (which felt much less scary and more action).

Really made me think how much enjoyment people who played RE2 back in the day must have had seeing this remake. Made me yearn for a Metal Gear Solid remake that isn’t Twin Snakes.

If it's the same as the XBOX version it's not too bad if you use the coins, the most difficult bit is actually getting out of the opening sequence(followed closely by the final Nemesis fight).

I fall into the category of playing the original PS1 game, but I am yet to finish the remake, though I am at the final location in Claires B scenario.

I love the remake, but having played the original game so much, it hasn't grabbed me as much as I expected. To be fair though, I expect to still be dropping in on the remake in ten years time, such is my love for the game.

Whilst a huge upgrade from the original, the games are basically as I remember them in my head visually! The damn puzzle changes do catch me out though. I used to know the safe combinations off the top of my head, but no more!

It's a weird contradiction, that I spent so many hours on the original, that the remake feels so familiar and the immediate wow factor is somewhat lost.

The silly neighbourhood vegetable.

The next gen versions of 2, 3 and 7 have been uploaded to servers it seems like. Reckon there's a good chance they get dropped tomorrow!

PS5 versions of 2 and 3 are available to download now, crazy how the file sizes are smaller than the PS4 versions

I'll download 2 and 3 again. I enjoyed 2 a lot but didn't get into 3. Hard to imagine how much better 2 could look, was already amazing.

Wish my image sig would work

The Resetera thread is full of people screaming about these being botched for a bunch of reasons I don't understand. Sounds like having Ray Tracing on makes the frame rate tank so it may be better to have it off. Loading is insanely fast by all accounts. The PS5 versions do include RE8 style haptics which have mixed reviews.

None of the fancier updates I speculated on in the other thread. Indeed some stuff seems disappointingly left alone i.e. Zombies dropping to low frame rate at distance.

Excited to dive in tonight.

Wading through the Resident Evil reddit about the updates and it's a slog, 99% of posts are from PS5 owners not knowing how to upgrade and/or confused because the PS+ Resi 7 means you need to pay €20. The upgrade process on PS5 is really strawberry floating stupid tbh.

I kicked off both updates for RE2 and 7 this morning before work, they about 23gb each.

It’s not a straight forward process, I put the PS4 disc in and it had to install that and then PS4 updates and only after that it showed the free PS5 upgrade which I am now downloading :fp:

Load up PS5, highlight Resident Evil 2/3 and you see the link which takes you to the page to download the PS5 versions. Download sizes on all formats have been more or less the same so it's in no way quicker on Xbox.
