The remakes of 2/3 were amazing. 2 Sammy favourite but I did enjoy 3 and the stories interlooping somewhat.
They seem totally different to Resident Evil 7 (which in VR I found terrifying in parts) and the Village (which felt much less scary and more action).
Really made me think how much enjoyment people who played RE2 back in the day must have had seeing this remake. Made me yearn for a Metal Gear Solid remake that isn’t Twin Snakes.
I fall into the category of playing the original PS1 game, but I am yet to finish the remake, though I am at the final location in Claires B scenario.
I love the remake, but having played the original game so much, it hasn't grabbed me as much as I expected. To be fair though, I expect to still be dropping in on the remake in ten years time, such is my love for the game.
Whilst a huge upgrade from the original, the games are basically as I remember them in my head visually! The damn puzzle changes do catch me out though. I used to know the safe combinations off the top of my head, but no more!
It's a weird contradiction, that I spent so many hours on the original, that the remake feels so familiar and the immediate wow factor is somewhat lost.
