Nothing wrong with a Focus to be honest, always quite liked them! Keep pondering either Fiesta and Focus ST for my next car.

I'm looking at 2015 1.5 TDCI Titanium models. Comfortable, economical commuting machine, which will also be decent for my jaunts down the country to visit my mam.

Pretty much what one of my siblings has, sure he used to get at least 60mpg average.

Get them to sweeten the deal by replacing the rear tyres.

the seat is going to be repaired, there are some scratches and stuff that are going to be repainted, the diamond faces on the wheels are a bit not for me so the alloys are going too be powdercoated instead, and in exchange for me not complaining about the tyres (which i pointed out) they are giving me more money for my px

so all in hand ;)

That’s a lovely colour.
I’m currently considering the same engine in an M340i, or the M340d.
I do a hundred motorway miles a day, And I know I’d get 60mpg out of the diesel, but I can’t help but think buying a diesel now is a bad idea.
What sort of mpg are you averaging in your M440i?

haha yeah I appreciate that not everyone is going to like it, tbh when I first saw it I was not on board but it really grew on me. That being said I think it needs to be blacked out like mine or maybe same colour as the body work like on the M4.

I think the colour of the car really helps it - then problem for me is when you are side on, it really protrudes

Here is a question:

What/Where are your favourite driving roads?

Image

Mine is part of the B3051 (above) from Cole Henley to Kingsclere, very quick/flowing roads that lead upto a nice vantage point. The reverse is also very good (taking a left at the bottom of the hill) from Kingscelere to Quidhampton - Nice dips and crests where you can see all traffic and a couple of nice s-bends

It's a place where I used to take the bike all the time, and now have just as much fun with the car.

Nice idea! Might actually make the time to go a little further north on my next drive to check out the B3051.

I currently drive part of the A32/A272 circuit east of Winchester. It can be rather busy though and overtaking opportunities are slim, often coinciding in places where the fuzz like to sit. It's very popular with bikers, you can see them all meeting up at Loomies. I tend to go west though and the best part for me is on Belmore Lane between Corhampton and Morestead. Bumpy, quite tight and with plenty of bends you'll need to react to. Need maximum concentration though and other drivers tend to cut across the road so it's not one to really let rip on.

Back in Lincolnshire I had a couple roads. The B1189 between Walcott and Metheringham, the A153 between Horncastle and Louth. The B1189 was one of my ways to work and when there was no traffic or tractors, it was sublime. Six miles with two fantastic sections immediately outside each village where you can really push the limit with your grip. Add in some long straights, a few medium corners, good visibility and you are set for some fun. Coming from Walcott is the best direction; as you come towards the end, you go through a couple shallow corners, then a shallow right, have ~200M to brake into a very tight left that falls away. Following up a series of s-bends over varying elevation into Metheringham. I'd take the final bit easy in the wet as you'll end up in the dykes if you strawberry float up.

Finally, Carrbridge to Forres on the B9007. A satnav will take you all the way down the A938 but you should ignore it as the alternative is fantastic. It's single track in places, but plenty of it has been widened to allow the installation of wind turbines. After one or two miles you reach the crest of the mountains and have a fantastic view of the road in the distance to gauge whether there is any oncoming traffic. Great mix of shallow corners and elevations changes. Only drove down it twice as I didn't have a car when I was living in Lossiemouth. I would have gone down it on my last visit but it was shitting it down with snow and driving down the A938 was scary enough.
