Does anybody think the new BMW 1 Series 120d M Sport X Drive sounds good?

To be honest, I like the new look and it looks aggressive. I heard good things about the new 1 Series and it is getting better than the previous models.

Of course I would have a little nosey round once the shops are open and safe to do so too.

Looking forward to a month or two on no payments and then I think I’m gonna take advantage of the depressed market

I’ll never find anything to replace mine so I think I’m gonna go totally different, fancy a 208 gti sport, something small and nippy to play around with and cleanse the palette before going big power again

Dunno

Have you thought about something that's a proper toy? Something like an Atom or chaterham 7. I'd love something in the garage that exists purely for strawberry floating around in :datass:

Also, regarding car viewings, I boughgt my GT four having never driven one or even seen the one I was buying beyond one import picture :shifty:

I dont have a garage but I wouldnt say no to a toy

its the parking that is the issue now I dont live in a house

also I wanna keep the outlay to less than 10k if I can until I get my life in order, and cruise control would be nice as work is a 100 mile round trip

I think overall it’s supposed to be a good car. Engine will be great, quick and economical. Can’t get over the looks of this new version though, looks awful.

Can you lovely people please help me with a dumbass car battery question?

the LOL van battery is dead (only has enough juice to operate the door locks really) it's been struggling for a year or so now so it needs a new one anyway really.

It currently (hah) has this fitted:

https://tps.trade/batteries/quantum-096 ... edia-modal

Spec is: 62Ah 600A(EN) 12V

Is there any reason why this would not be a suitable replacement?

https://www.batterycharged.co.uk/shop/b ... 41535.html

The van is a 1.9 diesel.

Thank you in advance!

Would the new one definitely fit properly given that it's slightly taller? If it would, then it should be fine.

It would yes, there's plenty of clearance.

Thank you!

You may want to give them a call before you order it just to be 100% sure, but the only difference it should make is that it would take slightly longer to charge and add a bit of weight to the van.

Which is the bit that indicates it would take a little longer? That shouldn't be an issue really. There's batteries on there which seem similar but are about 3 times the price!

It would take longer due to the larger capacity.

How long before car tax expiry do reminders normally go out? My tax is up the end of this month but I've had nothing through yet from the DVLA. I was sure they normally come more than a month in advance.

Two or three weeks, I think. Sure it’s less than a month. But you can tax it without the reminder anyway.

Ha, it ended up coming last thing yesterday after all.

Annoyingly I've only got the car for 6 more months but I only have the option of 12 months tax since it's in the lowest bracket and 12 months is only £30.

I switched my car tax to direct debit to remove the hassle of worrying about renewal dates etc.

Speaking of car tax - the number of cars you still see with an old tax disc from 2014 in the window is ridiculous. It's been 6 strawberry floating years, take the damn thing down!
