I was reading the other day that this is actually brilliant for manufacturers long term

They are selling the cars at or above rrp for the first time in years and even when the scarcity is over they won’t go back to big incentives etc, the hard work of getting consumers into a new car every 2-3 years has already been done, so they sell themselves now without having to take that cut

Anyone here got any experience leasing?

Think I might be in the market for a new car as my current Mazda 2 is now almost 10 years old. I'm not a big driver and there's nothing really wrong with my Mazda buy I've had it about 5 years now and something nicer would be a good treat.

Think my budget is probably about 15k but don't really know what I would get for that and wondering if just leasing might be a better choice for me.

Time for adventure

And the the prices of 2nd hand cars is absolutely ridiculous, some £5k "make-do" cars are now pushing £9/10k!

Basically, I've got £10,000 to buy a car, but perhaps I'm being too strict, I'm after:
  • Japanese
  • Low milage
  • Chain driven, not belt
  • Big boot
  • Smallish (because the missus doesn't want to handle anything too big)
  • Automatic

Lots and lots of Honda Jazzes fitting this..

Just to follow those up... Ended up getting another Jazz. :simper:
The most uncool and boring car on the road, but gatdamn, dat reliability :datass:

Was driving down the M6 this afternoon and saw a car flip over and land upside down right next to me!
The motorway was kind of quiet and I noticed a car driving straight across the lanes towards the hard shoulder! It then turned around and I just thought some crazy driver was attempting to drive in the wrong direction of the motorway. Then it flipped as it hit the grass verge and started rolling along before it landed upside down with smoke coming out from the car. I was on the first lane so I quickly went to the middle lane in case it rolled in front of me as I was doing about 70mph.
I should have stopped but I was too shocked and wasn't thinking properly. However, I saw about 3 cars behind me stop on the hard shoulder to assist so I guess it was ok that I left.
Unfortunately I do not have a dashcam. Anyway close call. It was like watching it in slow motion, was so unreal.

The rubber seal on my door has come loose. Anyone know the best thing to use to reattach it?

Some strong double-sided tape does the job nicely.

That makes sense, cheers. I was so tempted to use superglue (because I already have some), but I know I’d just end up glueing the door closed.

Is it a bad idea to reset the oil change warning that keeps flashing up on my dash?

It's not ideal. Unless you've had an oil change and the indicator wasn't reset.

I'm taking it in. It was due a service in May anyway so the garage are going to do all of it together.

Not to make the potential beginning of WW3 all about me but word is the Audi factory has shut down once again due to material shortages because, yep, a lot of the wiring is sourced from Ukraine.

Meanwhile the leasing company won’t respond to my calls or emails, haven’t updated my ETA in over 4 months, and won’t even respond to the employee benefit provider that contracts the salary sacrifice scheme out to them, when I escalated it.

Next step is my employer I suppose.

Is it at least available in GT7?

Not that I could afford one but it’s nice to know there’s another electric car on the market I’d actually drive alongside the Honda E.

£50k

It really does look neat though, always had a soft spot for a VW campervan (no idea why mind), it’d make such a good campervan.

:dread:

I have no idea how much I’ll be paying next time I fill up, last time it was only about £1.45 a litre.

A full tank for me now runs about £120. FML.
