I think I'm about 75% of the way through this. Loved it all so far. Puzzles get more interesting as it goes on. Love the human flash back bits too.

I ordered the physical version from the USA as a gift for someone and it comes with a free digital copy for the USA Nintendo E Shop.

If anyone wants it, here it is.

FREE copy of Carrion on USA Nintendo E Shop.

Someone seems to have claimed this now! Very generous of you lad. Pity I couldn't nab it in time.

Well I am quite frankly strawberry floating loving every second of this. The controls are great, the gore and violence is like a ballet of limbs and teeth and the whole feeling of the game just works really well.

Soundtrack is on Spotify now as well :datass:

Tried this on PC Gamepass after reading that it could be played mouse only but couldn't even get further than the title screen as it starts in fullscreen mode (which makes the onscreen keyboard minimize) and have no means of pressing the spacebar to get any further.

I'm in what I think is the last zone. Loved the game and will play through it again.

Sorry to hear that, dude. It seems developers need to improve how they approach accessibility for all types of gamers. Maybe try contacting them?

After watching a couple of gameplay videos it appears that you still need to use WASD to move around so I don't think I could actually play it after all.

Oh well, back to Gears Tactics, Persona 4 and Slay the Spire (which I still haven't managed to beat after 200 hours and countless failed runs).

I think I'm finished.... Done the last checkpoint but went the wrong way and have no idea how to get back. The lack of a metroidvania map is ridiculous.

I am currently exploring getting additional upgrades for energy but I want to get to the end and it's frustrating.

Hopefully a bit of patching will make this the amazing game it could be.

Is anyone having an issue with the aspect ratio? Half of the HUD is cutoff on my TV and I can't find any means of adjusting it.

I'm on Switch Lite and I thought some of the HUD was missing (energy bar at the top) but it's actually the way it was designed with it only being half boxes.

And finished. Ending is a little bit flat but it suits the tone and makes sense.

Took some time as I kept getting lost. Found a room near the end which shows all the zones and what is left to discover.

But it's no substitution for a Metroidvania map.

Overall I really loved it. It felt old school with the graphics and music. I was getting Amiga vibes from it, but it has old game design problems too. Even if they had given each zone different uniforms for the humans it would make it easier to navigate.

Hopefully the game gets a few updates to improve navigation. That's all it needs.

The game itself is very enjoyable and plays with the idea very well. The abilities are all exciting and the puzzles are simple but fun. Combat is fantastic and just a slaughter.

Its a unique little game that will hopefully lead to an amazing sequel.

I'll keep playing as I want to unlock everything.

Came here to say exactly that. I started it yesterday, and yes, the corner icons and the top meter are half off-screen. I was majorly concerned it was my new TV not being set up correctly, so I’m glad it’s not just me. It’s annoying, but bearable, I guess.

Started this last night. It seems ok, but nothing special so far. I can see me getting horribly, horribly lost very soon.

Update - i have got horribly, horribly lost. Think thats probably the end of the road for this game. Its quite nice, but a "mapless metroidvania" is down there with "time limit roguelike" in terms of game mechanics i want to embrace.

Yea I get that. I understand the aesthetic choice to not have one because why would a sentient ball of gore draw a map but the lack of one is so frustrating at times.

The lack of map is the only really negative thing about the game. But it's such a big miss in a metroidvania game, as filling out the map is part of the fun of that sort of game.

I'm still chipping away at finding all the last few upgrades. But it's very hard as I keep getting lost.

Reminds me a bit of The Thing. I only have a PS4 though so I won't be buying it.

Rapidly-greying is Mediocre to Average at games :fp:
