Look, Peppa is just a very shitty character and if she was a real person she'd be a bully and everyone would hate her. She basically never gets any comeuppance either so I guess she'd grow up to be a great Eton politician.

You sound like Nick Ferrari ranting about how kids have never had it so good. Honestly, you're about 2 posts away from demanding national service comes back.

I'm just saying maybe if Peppa had to work for a living in a work house she might not be such a shitty person. :capnscotty:

Have you seen the house she lives in? Just walking up and down that hill is a full time job.

Is it a good thing or a bad thing that Peppa Pig doesn't have any interracial couples?

The real problem is the bloody EU have taken over and installed a French gazelle in the school to warp the minds of the children!

It's a bad thing and it's also a bad thing about how it reinforces gender stereotypes as well.

I don't use CBeebies because the stuff is on Netflix but our son (22m) loves Peter Rabbit to bits. He probably shouldn't be watching it, though. Almost every episode has some instance of him at risk of being killed and/or eaten by Mr. Todd or Mr. McGregor. There's a bit in The Tale of the Greedy Fox where they've infiltrated Mr. Todd's house to save ditzy Mrs. Puddleduck from getting tricked into cooking herself alive in front of the fox, and after they successfully get her to leave, Mr. Todd chases them around to try and catch them to eat. For a moment, he has Lilly and Benjamin trapped in a corner and as he's stalking towards them, the two of them hug eachother tightly, shaking in fear, before shutting their eyes and waiting for death. Pretty strawberry floatin grim. I can do a pretty good Mr. Todd impression though, which cracks him and my girlfriend up, so it's not all bad.

Anyway, the best show for that age group is Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood. Catchy little songs and extremely wholesome, valuable life lessons (and crucially, not the same tune repeated each time like other shows).

I had this stuck in my head the whole time I was playing through Subnautica and it only heightened the experience.

+1 for Daniel Tiger's Neighbourhood, love that show. Daniel is the grandson of the tiger in Mr Rogers's Neighbourhood, which is a nice easter egg.

I also enjoy Puffin Rock, but my kids are going off that which is a shame :(

My son got into Veggietales on Netflix a few weeks ago (fun enough show, has it's moments, animated a bit like the OG Worms FMV). I was dipping in and out and I only realised it was a Christian show when a character casually namedropped the Book of Proverbs in a conversation. I ended up googling it to see if it was affiliated with any particularly unpleasant groups (e.g. Westboro etc) - I found out that the creators of the show have explained they won't be bringing Jesus into the show directly because they'd either have to break the continuity of the show by introducing a human character or they'd have to portray Jesus as a talking vegetable

That still wouldn't be as weird as Beyblade canon where Moses used a Beyblade to part the Red Sea.

In my mind I read 22m as "age 22, male" which made this unintentionally hilarious.

Numberblocks is amazing (especially the Star Wars and Indy episodes). Alphablocks is god awful.

If I was a young girl I'd give up on STEM in protest at the condescending shite that is Bitz and Bob (STEAMPINK STYLE :dread: )

Sarah and Duck is great and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise.

You're right about Bing  The voices got much more irritating in the second season too. David Threlfall is no match for Mark Rylance. Any idea why Sting and Trudie Styler are thanked at the end of every episode?

I thought Numberblocks was meh but I saw the Pirate Treasure special recently and it's gone up in my estimation. Agree that Alphablocks is unbearable. Bitz and Bob has a great theme tune but not much else.

Sarah and Duck just strikes me as absolute filler, nothing going on at all.

Definitely the best thing about the show. Also several episodes seem to involve the team hunting down Glitch presuming he's doing something awful, only to find him in the middle of some community project or something.

I might risk sounding like a parody woke snowflake etc here but... Octonauts has a dreadful gender balance. All the major characters are male, and all the female characters work in menial roles aboard the ship. :dread:

Again risking sounding like a ridiculous exaggeration of a liberal but... to me Duggee is everything that I want from the BBC. It's funny, educational and shamelessly diverse. Roly might be the funniest television character since Gob. And some of the cultural references are brilliant - the Scooby Doo parody episode was superb.
