I think the inactivity of this thread this evening pretty much sums up this CBB.

...all this he saw, for one moment breathless and intense, vivid on the morning sky; and still, as he looked, he lived; and still, as he lived, he wondered.

Watch those ratings nosedive. A format well past its relevancy and non-celebrity celebrity house mates. It's time big brother left the big brother house. :P

Nominations are:-

Kerry who was automatically nominated after losing her Diva task. She had to nominate 2 people Live as well who were Bobby and Sally.

It's a vote to save this year.
Next Friday is the next eviction.
A billionaire visits this weekend.

I bet the execs from Channel 4 are punching the sky in relief for knowing when to quit. They must be feeling the way Nintendo felt when they sold Rare to Microsoft.

In many ways I'm not totally convinced that the format itself was dead but rather that Endemol and CH4 just lost sight of what made it sucessful in the first place. The constant parade of freaks really didn't help. I think CH5 could have pulled a rabbit from the hat and surprised us all but the calibre of the celebs really doesn't auger well for them. Time will tell but it certaintly isn't looking that good.

I'm not sure how you worked out your percentages "2009 - 97.3% drop (5.90m to 2.99m)" :?

I fixed them for you:

Thanks, fortunately they're not my figures, I just copied them off another forum, my maths isn't that bad. Expect they'll be a big drop in ratings tonight as BB always gets terrible ratings on Saturday which is why Ch4 dropped the Saturday highlights show. Plus it's the X-Factor debut.

In other news the Billionaire visited today and set a task:-

Mohamed Al-Fayed has set the Celebrity Big Brother housemates an Egyptian-themed task during his brief visit to the compound.

The 82-year-old businessman was introduced to the group as Big Brother's 'Un-Pharaoh' and set the group two challenges that would eventually name one of them the heir to his throne.

For the first task, housemates were wrapped from head to toe in bandages to become Egyptian mummies, before being laid down flat on their backs in the garden and instructed to stand up.

As the first six on their feet, Paddy Doherty, Bobby Sabel, Lucien Laviscount, Darryn Lyons, Tara Reid and Sally Bercow were invited to play a game of 'Musical Sandstone' - eventually won by the American Pie actress.

Reid has since been dressed in lavish Egyptian attire, though it is currently unknown whether she will receive any perks or privileges as the new 'Un-Pharaoh'.

Although designed as a light-hearted distraction, the Egyptian task has caused tensions to rise amongst the housemates, with Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff blasting Jedward for pushing her over during the mummy challenge and Lyons accusing Sabel of throwing the game of 'Musical Sandstone' to Reid.

It was previously reported that Al-Fayed would use his visit to the house to confront 'Mr Paparazzi' Lyons over the death of his son Dodi and Princess Diana.

They shouldn't have started with a celebrity version.

I haven't watched any of this but I'd strawberry floating love it if Sally Bercow went out first.

The fat pink haired guy is fat, yet somehow has a weird six pack. What the strawberry float is going on there? Are they ab implants?

I think they had to, don't think they had enough time to get the audition process up and running after the deal was signed to start the normal BB first.

A decent start especially as everyone is mostly polite the first few days. Don't like the musical montages. Like having vote to save as in theory it'll get rid of the quiet housemates. I'd prefer the US BB method but that'll never happen.

So push back the start date and put some time into actually coming up with a new, compelling, watchable format that isn't an almost exact copy of the show that C4 decided was now tired and dull.

Channel 5 had the opportunity to do something good with the concept and become more than the channel that just shows CSI and Iceroad Truckers reruns.

They wanted it back this year asap so that's there's enough of a gap before they start back on the regular schedule of Celeb BB in Jan and normal BB in the summer. Even on this tight schedule there's only going to a 2 month gap between normal BB finishing and Celeb BB starting.

I wouldn't blame Ch5 too much, Endemol are still running the show. What would you change to become the show you want?

According to a post on Digital Spy BB:-

Alice Levine just said on BBBOTS they will be able to discuss nominations throughout the series!!

An introduction of scheming and plotting from BB US will be a welcome shake up of the show.

This made me laugh:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-14587190

About half way down you can listen to Nasty Nick's thoughts/comments on this show so far. I don't know if it was intentional but when he is asked who he thinks will win his reply sort of sums of exactly where CH5 have dropped the ball... :)

...all this he saw, for one moment breathless and intense, vivid on the morning sky; and still, as he looked, he lived; and still, as he lived, he wondered.
