This is such a Stewart Lee anecdote  could make it onto one of his stand-ups.

The key information we are missing is whether Stewart looked fat and/or depressed.

he did look quite tired but i think it was just a hot day

Only two I can think of are when I saw Sean Connery pottering around New York 2006. My friend went up to him and all she could think of saying was "Do you know where Bloomingdale's is"?.

The other sighting was the other week in Rome. I was in a market and saw a film crew. I had a little peek and saw Mary Berry chatting away with one of the market stall owners.

I've possibly seen others, but not that I can recall.

I've never met any celebrities but both my parents and my sister have.

My dad has held a door open for Trevor Francis, stood next to ex Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Kevin Pressman (in a chemists of all places) and shook hands with Willie Thorn (the Snooker player).

My mum has properly met loads, including; Demis Roussos, Frank Bruno and Vinnie Jones (when he was still playing football) .

And finally, my sister has met Len Goodman at a dance festival she was competing in, she said hi to him but her friend got a bit carried away, shouted "Len!" and ran up and hugged him like they knew each other

  gooseberry fool, I have tears in my eyes. Do you have any other details? Was he sweating? Please.

EDIT: Did he come into the sports centre just to get a drink, not because he was doing sports?

I met quite a few famous people when I worked in room service for the Hilton in Cardiff.

Chris Evans and Billie Piper were staying in the "Presidential Suite" whilst she was filming some of the first series of Doctor Who back in 2004/05 (I forget which). They were strawberry floating annoying guests and didn't tip well at all.

Aled Jones was a good guest, gave me a massive tip once just for bringing him a few extra pastries for his breakfast. Seem to recall thinking he was a right midget mind, I thought a child had answered the door at one point. He was on the top floor but didn't quite make it to the presidential suite.

Wesley Snipes was staying there once, but he was just in a regular room because he's obvs not at the same celebrity level as the likes of Chris Evans, Billie Piper or Aled Jones! He had left a script for something on the desk in his room but this was the days before I had a camera phone so I couldn't take any sneaky pics of it sadly!

he was a bit sweaty; he was there because his kid/s had a school sports day with us.
i actually saw him a few weeks later in his car in traffic but obviously didnt say hello because our first encounter was hardly acquaintance-forming.

I met former Coronation Street actor Brian Capron on a train back from a gig. Had a quick chat with him and got a picture. Nice guy.

At a PoopGang meet, a couple of us popped into a coffee shop whilst the others waited outside. After a couple of minutes of chatting we noticed that Jimmy Carr had joined the queue behind us! Had a word, he said hi, etc.

At a poker tournament in Brighton Marina, then Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder David Lopez ended up being seated next to me. Got to talk to him for a few hours as we both went deep into the tournament.

I met Bret Hart with GRcade member SuperDragon at his book signing in London.

I met the band InMe at their album signing in Brighton. They were there until 4:30pm as they had a gig at the Concorde 2 in the evening. I had to dash directly from school, get the train to Brighton, absolutely bomb it down to HMV in Churchill Square, chatted with them for a few minutes and then told them we needed to run back home to change for the gig. It was bit weird really, they were just wandering around the shop, not a traditional signing event. Got my album signed though.

If you stand around Brighton station enough you will eventually come across Chris Eubank.

I saw Whitney Houston in Universal Studios Orlando, didnt realise it was her until later.

Bill Murray stayed in the hotel I used to work at, passed him in the lobby but he was gone before I realised it was him.

Im not very good at celebrity spotting.

I have also come across a bunch of rugby players out and about but most of the forum would have no idea who they were so I dont think they count.

I did the IT install for a TV company years ago, the woman who owned the company was the one who invented Teletubbies and all that stuff iirc, her husband popped down and stayed for a chat with us as we were working (3 day job in the end). He was Terry Nutkins, very nice man.

Vin Diesel walked into me at the Fast & Furious premiere, and I've met a couple of wrestlers here and there. Mostly TNA ones though.

Oh, I was on the Gadget Show, too. So there's an awful picture of me and a bunch of other guys from my uni with Suzi Perry somewhere online.

Noel Edmonds told me there were bats in the bat enclosure at Longleat, as well. We were going in as he was coming out

I don't think I've ever spoken to anyone genuinely famous. I've been stood behind Geoff Hurst in Starbucks but couldn't find the courage to speak to him (as a West Ham fan I was pretty starstruck), and walked past Chris Tarrant in Plymouth once, but I think that's about it. The ying to that yang is that I've spoken to Yuri Gellar a couple of times on the phone (we were installing air conditioning in his house) but never actually met him. Gareth Southgate once chatted-up my sister, many years back - does that count? There was a weird few months back in the late 90s where I hung out with the bass-player of my favourite band a few times (Danny from the Wildhearts). Lovely fella, he was - we'd go to the local rock club and he'd have everyone swarming round him wanting to say hi, then he'd turn back and carry on chatting to me. Very surreal! Tight as arseholes, mind - never bought a round and was always scrounging fags.

Just checked and I've still got Yuri Gellar's number. Anyone want it?

That reminds me! My stepdad is a delivery driver and once delivered some garden furniture to Noel Edmunds.

He was a bit of a twat, he was shouting at his cleaner when my stepdad got there and rudely just told him to leave the stuff in the driveway.

My stepdad did have his mobile number from that encounter though and I got hold of it. I left a few answer messages saying “blobby blobby blobby” but he never called me back.

My mum worked security for Bruce Willis once when he was over filming at elstree studios. He smells, and didn’t change his shirt all week. I used to work in the same spot as Kris Kamara filmed for sky sports. We were first aid though, but he was lovey to us. Happily sat with us on the stretcher when things got boring on the pitch and would do shout outs for injured people.

I went to my pals house after school and seen Vinnie Jones in his pants, with my pals mum ironing his suit for some awards show. She worked for some high profile newspapers. Died last year and Piers Morgan started a fight on Twitter with Alistair Campbell in the pub after the funeral. Very surreal watching them drink in a dive bar that sold to me underage.

I also met Jimmy Carr at a PG meet, got groped by Face from the A-Team in a dodgy student club, and kissed Verne Troyer in another seedy bar. Went to school with a few famous kids, had Rik Mayall turn up to drama lessons (nephews) and Lee Dixon for some football tournament (son/daughter) My best friend down south also took the call to Amy Winehouse when she died before getting re-routed (she was a student at the time so sent a ‘better’ crew to deal with the high profile case, but we knew before the papers did.)

I've had pictures with Penn & Teller, Axis of Awesome, Craig Charles, and Peter Serafinowicz. I've also met Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and Tsushimamire, though I didn't know enough Japanese to ask for a picture with the former, and the latter refused without a VIP ticket, of which 5 were sold.

Oh, and Omid Djalili signed my copy of his autobiography, which I have not read.
