I met Nigel Mansell when he raced in the BTCC in 1998, the event that day attracted one of the biggest crowds i had ever seen!

was that at Donington Park?

T'was Silverstone, it was the season finale, and after Rickard Rydell became champion, i headed across to the paddock to see the celebrations.

Then i had wander over to the Volvo garage and the mechanics were piling up bits of broken car from Rydell's team mate (Gianni Morbidelli, an ex F1 racer), and after asking one of the crew, i was allowed to take one of the pieces home with me.

I got to meet Nigel Mansell during the pit road walkabout, as back then, the first few thousand tickets sold would receive a pit lane pass.

A little addendum to the shutdown from Tsushimamire; I ordered the live album of their London/Paris set, which arrived today, and they signed the invoice sheet!

Hooray for closure!

Are you definitely sure this actually happened and you weren't just accosting a tramp at a urinal?

For a while back there I thought you meant the real Steve Jones and you'd won the thread.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

A rather tenuous link here, but a friend of mine met Steve Jones back in the mid 2000s and he proceeded to show said friend his phone which contained the numbers of both Pamela Anderson and Halle Berry.

Bastard.
