It depends on what games come out, to me. I wonder what Microsoft's definition of retro is going to be, though. A lot of older titles have aged very, very badly.

Totally, if they could get 90s to early 00s SEGA games in there then this might just be the most amazing thing to ever happen to the games industry.

I grew up with Sega in that era myself, so that selection would - also - be the best thing ever. I can not even begin to comprehend how much money I would spend.

I think the fatal flaw in the plan is that he seems to think anyone still enjoys playing Centipede.

Yeah, but they're not laid out in a cool little arcade where you can go and play with friends or randoms are they? And that's what makes this so awesome, being able to stand by the Daytona/Sega Rally/Virtua Fighter 2 cabinet just taking challenges like in an old arcade would be AMAZE!

That Collection was merely a sliver of the awesome that the Mega Drive delivered. I could think of at least 50 games that weren't on there.

It should have been 10 points per play to give the impression of sticking 10p in a slot.

This is what perplexes me the most, why would you want to replicate the throwing loads of money away part of the arcade experience. Just buy the strawberry floating games, or emulate them or whatever you retro fetishists do.

I agree but this is not for prolonged use this is for games testing more than anything. I'd be much more likely to try a game I'm unsure of a few times if it was just 10 points.

That's only the launch titles. There are still another 970 games to be unveiled. I wonder if they'll put some obscure titles like E.T on there just some can see it for themselves.

The opening bunch is mostly gooseberry fool/over priced tosh. It is possible that a few good titles will get released in time.

I'm looking forward to it, spending 40msp on an old arcade game is the perfect way to wind down from a mammoth gaming session.

All depends on the games available though, would love some After Burner, Sega Rally, Soul Edge, etc.

Also, After Burner Climax was recently spotted on partnernet.
