I come to you now GRcade in a moment of need!

I accidently opened a .FIT file in Photoshop and now it wont revert!

I know a way you might think :capnscotty: however, I want you to know that I have already tried going through Regedit and have removed all opened and user opened data yet it still picks Phototshop.

Help me GRcade, you are my only hope.

Right click, open with, choose program, select what you want, tick the box, hit ok

If that doesn’t work

Hit start, type “default programs”, select the options for set default programs, at the bottom click “set by file type”, find the extension in the list, choose your program

I’m writing all that from memory, so options might be worded differently.

Default applications shouldn't impact you uploading to a webpage. Default applications are for opening the file, it shouldn't matter for uploading as its just selecting which file to from a file picker that has nothing to do with opening it.

Clearing an association is an abosoulte bitch and requires hitting the registry to do it so not something you wanna do without knowing what you are doing, and even then with caution.

What exactly is happening as if you are going to webpage, hitting a "browse" button and selecting a file to upload the associations are irrelivant.

You won’t have the pesky photoshop icon under start menu any more,
