Very Charlie Brooker.

Was a dark comedy and plot holes aren't really part of the critique imo, the fact it was rather more believable than it should have been (with all the political manoeuvring) was chilling enough.

Also Daniel Kaluuya was brilliant. The intensity during his speech

Better than last weeks.

Though I was expecting/hoping the guy to stab the judges with that piece of glass.

Seemed like Brooker apologising for selling out to me. I still enjoyed it. It felt a lot like a Doctor Who episode, without the Doctor.

I thought that might have been the point. Expecting and vying for blood from a piece of entertainment that's about the worst of what certain shows supposedly represent. Or I'm giving Brooker and Huq too much credit.

Huq was involved?

Obviously it was just a way of slagging off The X Factor because she's still pissed off about being fired from The Xtra Factor.

I liked that a lot. Me and Charlie Brooker both agree that hell itself is a future where PlayStation doesn't exist, and Wii has merged with Kinect to take over the world.

Couldn't stop thinking this. The whole paradox of being a TV critic seems to bother Brooker a lot.

I was watching this for comedy, but got a BAFTA winning performance amongst a load of awful ones.

The pretty girl was written and acted awfully.

Just finished watching both, really enjoyed them. I seem to be in the minority in that I liked the first one better. There was just something genuinely chilling and unsettling about the whole thing, I couldn't put my finger on it though. Can't wait to see the next one.

I didn't see the first Black Mirror, but I did catch last night's.

:| Not too impressed, tbh. I understand it was a sideswipe at the idiocy of much of modern 'reality TV' and the really very vicious underside to such vacuous programmes, as well as being a comment on the contemporary cult of 'celebrity'...but still didn't quite tick all the boxes for me.

I applaud Channel 4 for commissioning self-contained dramas like this though - something the BBC has all but abandoned, despite it's £4bn annual budget.

I thought you called it the Biased BBC? Anyway they have to spend most of that budget on educating people on climate change. ;)

I did and they do. The BBC is a disgrace and is clearly and repeatedly in breach of it's legal mandate with regards to it's relentlessly proAGW reportage. But it's a lot worse that that. Please check out this PDF report, prepared by The Global Warming Policy Foundation. I think you might find it interesting.
