Down to under £1 at last. That saves me at least £40 which is massive for me and me GF. Anyone got fuel any cheaper at the mo?

A sign of things to come hopefully?

Just in time. I've decided to start driving to work instead of taking the train.

Good to hear but I doubt it'll last especially when people start stocking up because of that very reason. :?

I doubt it, its been falling for a while now, apparently,my man in the know at work, predicted this but he said it wouldnt happen until xmas, now if there is a further interest cut, it could fall further.

So pleased though, takes a massive weight of my shoulers, £30 should get me through a week now not bloody £50.

I wonder if British Gas will lower their gas and electric prices now?

 Fat chance, although it would be worth it to piss off all the people who froze their prices

I do believe that even if you froze your prices, you are entitled to switch your tariff, it just protects you against rises (again) thats all.

Yes, my engine is designed for >97RON fuel. Normal unleaded is 95 I think.

True, Super is 97, normal is 95. It's not like using normal would damage your engine. You'd just notice a slight drop in performance at low revs.

I hope the price of a barrel continues to drop. The main reason for the drop over the past few months has been because of falling demand and fears that demand will continue to drop in the coming world recession. However expect OPEC to agree to cut its production soon which will likely push prices back up however much i have no idea.

Annoying for me though as i drive a diesel and the gap between diesel and petrol is still massive, the main reason is supposedly because we have such a small refining capacity in this country for diesel compared to petrol.

It is frustrating when it's cheaper on the continent.

Performance is sluggish with 95, it's not a clean type of fuel for the engine and bizarrely it's not as economical. Its about 113p for what I need which is cheaper than it was, it was 124p during that crazy period...

Per litre, just 3 month ago I was paying 20p per litre more, Id put at least 20 litres in (I think) If someone could work out how much I save a week my brain would be grateful. :)

We use the litre but it used to be done by the gallon.

Also on the diesel subject, i read a stat the other day about how on the continent most cars are infact diesels whilst here despite rising popularity of diesel, petrol is still by far the most popular choice. However they still have the refining capacity in france etc to produce the required diesel. This makes me wonder how small our capacity must be if we are still looking at 10p a litre more for diesel over petrol.
