Problemo numero dos: I think I transferred the original ROM instead of the patched ROM to my tablet...
Only now realizing I should have noticed immediately seeing as I chose a different character and different colour hearts, but I played through the beginning and got to Kakariko village and was apalled at my luck in the basement with the four chests. Four red rupees? I thought this seed was supposed to be generous at the start!
Anyway, that should be a quick fix. Should be able to upload the ROM for the patch from my tablet.
Glad you got something working.
But yeah it's a fairly straightforward seed to get going with.
I actually ran through this seed (
https://www.reddit.com/r/alttpr/comments/c9z8x1/casual_tournament_style_seed_for_the_2nd_week_of/) today. A bit harder than the one we're doing. Was a while before I got my first sword and I had to do the initial sections with only the Cane of Somaria (Red Cane) as a weapon. Got a few weapons after a while, but also had to do my first dungeon (Tower of Hera) without the Sword meaning I had to fight Moldorm with the Hammer. That's great because he goes down in three hits with that, but it's tricky to time the attack and positioning. All in all it took me 4:06 to beat it, which isn't bad for me, but the other people who have posted times range from 1:58 to 2:46 so far. That said, I don't use any glitches and my routing needs practicing.
How's everyone else doing with our Seed? Pedz wasn't too far off it last night when I went to bed.
I've got mine working at last! Thank you Devlin for the assistance in the PM, and thanks to everyone else in the thread too. I'm toiling a little bit at the moment - picked up the Hookshot right off the bat, and am now in desperate need of either the hammer or the orb that keeps you composed as Link(or in my case, Clifford the big red dog) in the dark world.
Glad you got it up and running. Remember that some kind of tracker will really help you keep... well, track, of the items and locations that you've checked.
It's best to try and plan your route, especially early on (See my previous posts on this) as you can get loads of checks done, quite quickly.
Once the checks start getting a bit more spread out and less condensed, you should start looking at what dungeons you have access to. Most trackers will turn a dungeon green when you can get everything in it and complete it.
Oh and here's the Routing Hints and Tips document I mentioned yesterday.
