Cheese!

I think one thing we can all agree on is that Britain makes the best cheese so I thought it was about time we had a topic dedicated to something our country is best in the world at.

I'm going to open by declaring my love for Red Leicester.
It's great just sliced in a sandwich but really comes alive when melted and just becomes outrageously amazing.

So, what Great British cheeses do you love?

Brie and Camembert are the correct soft cheeses.

Extra strong mature cheddar is the only cheddar

Boison is soft cheese

Apple smoked, cranberry Wensleydale and some others for kicks.

You are correct about leicester.

Cheese. I will probably die of it

(I'm super skinny by the way)

Goats cheese on random French crackers with a sprinkle of tabasco and a leaf or two.

Plus one of those €3 bottle of red wine that are as good as a £10 bottle. Every day at lunch in the sun with a mild breeze.

Man I need a holiday again, like, ever.

A cheese based road trip would be pretty amazing.
Going about and trying awesome local varieties and seeing the cheese production facilities ( i know they're just food manufacturers and I worked at Jordans Mill which was way less exciting than you may imagine but it's cheese so it must be better) and the animals would be pretty darn relaxing.

I usually have mature cheddar, mozzarella, parmisan, halloumi and dairylea (for burgers and breakfast muffins) in my fridge. All the time. Love a trip to Aldi to buy all the mad European stuff dead cheap.

Nah man go to France and the cheese just comes to you at the local markets, even the corner shop stuff is god tier, plus said wine.

One of my favourite times, poor as piss but bottles of wine so much less insecure that they were literally described on the labels with no text at all, only pictures for "pork" "cow" "fish" "fruit" "biscuit" for what went with them. But it was France so always drinkable <3

We also raided the wine cupboard of the place we were staying in for about a week. I don't remember much, I have a couple of poems (the pages literally stained with wine) and that's it...

Mature cheddar.

But I like my visits to the bathroom regular and timely and so cheese is largely off the menu for me.

12 posts and not a single mention of stilton. You people are all wrong. :x

Cheese  My personal favourite, a nice sheep's cheese, Sainsburys do one called Parlick Fell and it's sublime.

I can eat cheese flavoured things and am fine with melted cheese, but I can't eat it otherwise. It actually makes me gag.

I like cottage cheese. But only from Sainsbury’s.

Every one is also slightly different and never tastes quite the same. It’s like Russian roulette for soft cheese.

:slol:

Brie is probably my favourite cheese but recently I have been eating a lot of Gouda, Lidl do a nice one, its pretty mild and creamy, goes well in a sandwich. Theres always 3-4 different cheeses in our fridge cos my wife loves a cheese toasty and to do it right you need a good blend of cheeses on there.

Cheese.

Mainly cheddar, normally go for a mature/extra mature one. I also like Mexicana, very nice used for cheese on toast as well! I sometimes have the ones with berries and such in but no too often.

If I'm using it in cooking then I'll use a lot more varieties, I never use or eat blue cheese though, tried it and I didn't like it, plus the first time I smelt Dolcelatte I gagged, how people can eat that is beyond me.
