I strawberry floating love the simple luxury of cheese on toast.

Yep, it's not fancy and is piss easy to make but it just hits the spot on a cold night like this so how do you enjoy this all time classic?
I just had a few slices of lightly fried chorizo on top of the melted cheddar and as normal it was great.

A bit of Lee and Perrins makes it awesome.

The big question is do you use grated cheese or slices, tip grated is correct, the wife uses slices and it’s just wrong.

I'm lazy so go sliced but I do see how it would melt better grated.

Love cheese on toast. Perfect simple snack.

How do you prepare your toast before the cheese goes on top? In the toaster? Under the grill? Buttered? Anyone here the kind of heathen who just uses untoasted bread and relies on it toasting while the cheese cooks?

Cheese slices? Like, that orange American cheese for burgers? :dread:

Naa like sliced cheese. Either getting a block, cutting slices then laying on the bread, or presliced cheese.

Henderson's relish raises cheese on toast to food of the gods.

I have a mini oven thingy so I just use bread and it toasts it while the cheese is melting as it's heated from all sides :shifty: .

Grated doesn't achieve the same depth of cheese, to fully realise the greatness of cheese on toast you have to cut the cheese into wedges and arrange them like a beautiful yellow mosaic

Has to be toasted first as the best cheese on toast is a bit burnt around the edges.
