PostChoosing a new internet provider

Hello chaps.

I'm moving house and have terminated my contract with Virgin Media. Who should I be looking at using for broadband in my new property? I honestly have no idea who to choose and who to avoid. Having BT Sport would be great but I do have free access to it on my laptop through a friend which I can always HDMI into the TV. Any specific recommended deals welcomed. I use the internet to watch a huge number of streams and play the odd game on Steam.

Thanks!

I'm using Sky Fibre Max. I'm on a deal (£28 including line rental) but I've had no problems. Speed is at a consistent 65Mbps, and I've not had a drop out for months.

Being as Virgin Media is the only fibre optic provider in my area I can't really suggest anyone else, although I have heard to avoid BT and TalkTalk.

BT, when they've actually fitted everything are actually ok. I've not had a problem with them after that.

It's tough to recommend a provider; virtually every one will have it's backers and avoiders.

Personally I have used BT for many years and they have been very reliable.

I've been pretty happy with Plusnet, no problems at all over the last couple of years. I'm on their Unlimited Fibre Extra package (£27.50 per month including line rental) and have a cheap monthly SIM with them too.

The trouble is with these internet providers is everyone's experience is different.
