Get a real tree.

I'd get a real one but I have nowhere to plant it afterwards.

Don't most councils do a recycling scheme for trees these day?

I'm on an estate and we don't have any recycling whatsoever here to my knowledge unfortunately.

I went to a Christmas shop last weekend at Liberty in London. Wasn't expecting a Christmas shop so early...honestly who can be in the mood to buy Christmas decorations in September!

If you fail to prepare, then prepare to fail.

And who wants to fail at Christmas?

I'll tell you who. The Number 1 Final Fantasy Fan.

I hope you're happy when everyone is crying and you've run out of Cranberry sauce and Santa has forgotten to get the right size of batteries and a tiny screwdriver to open the case, there's not enough milk, your uncle doesn't like the kind of bottled beer you've bought, the dog has chewed through the fairy lights and your neighbour has bought you a gift but you didn't get them one back. Monster.

Honestly, I'm fuming.

And this is supposed to be Christmas.

I’ve bought decorations already. I’m really tempted to buy a quality fake tree from Balsam Hill on sale as they’re really good, but we don’t have much room for a big one, so usually get a smaller real one. Dobbies was getting set up for Christmas stock today which is awesome, because I strawberry floating love Dobbies at Christmas.

If my Christmas thread is experience so far is anything to go by, that bit will be utterly misused by Moggy in a different thread, the absolute

Anyway, I intend to go all out this year. I am thinking of giving most of my friends a normal gift (actually, do people buy their friends gifts, or just their contractually obliged family?), and then one friend a massive gift.

So, most friends will get a chocolate bar, and one gets a full on Tie Fighter Star Wars drone.

I'm going to choose that friend at random, and see how that all works out.

Oh, I did laugh.

But, seriously, does no-one buy their friends gifts?

I used to with my best friend when we were both younger (got each other the expensive replica lightsabers one year :datass: ) but as we got older and drifted apart the gifts stopped.

Don't have to buy gifts for friends if you don't have any

We bought a really nice fake tree when we moved here, mainly becuase we knew we'd be getting a dog and didn't want to chance him either eating some of the tree and ending up dead, or just flat out destroying the thing. Now he's old enough we could probably get one, but the one we have has become a bit of a tradition with putting it up. May treat ourselves to a real tree one year though.

I used to be firmly in the artificial camp but we went real a few years back and just can't imagine not getting a real one now.

Going to pick the perfect tree is one of the highlights of the Christmas build up as well!
