My joke gift to my aunt arrived! We have a tradition of trying to get each other a joke present each year. This year she's getting a fake parrot

Bought advent calendars and stocking fillers for us and the cat. Tempted by a massive Fortnum and Mason hamper so I can use the basket for my linen.

8-)

Got a secret santa prank already planned. There's six people in this particular group, I don't know three of them very well, and we've set a limit of £5 to encourage creative thinking.

Originally, I thought I might just put £5 in an envelope.

But then I realised the best thing to do would be to spend c.£150 on something made of gold or a weekend break and just make everything really awkward.

My wife has already planned to send a Jeff Goldblum cushion (in the Jurassic Park pose) to her work Secret Santa. She has no idea who she will be sending it to yet, but she is adamant that whoever she pulls out of the hat is getting it.

I try to save the Festive Bakes (and Christmas food in general) until December, don't like to dilute the experience by spreading it too thin!

That said I have started a Sainsbo's box of Christmas chocolate biscuits that I couldn't walk past when in the shop the other day. :shifty:

I on the other hand, instantly left my desk to walk to Greggs after reading your post and finding out the Festive Bakes were back in town.

Blame Abacus - they mentioned it being released in Newcastle! Perhaps it's an early release for Northerners!
