Did a search but couldn't find an existing thread for this deceptive masterpiece of a game so...

Bit addictive isn't it :slol:

Current (fourth) city save is in the ice, an archipelago of islands, unlimited funds. Playing around with tram networks for the first time. I'm playing on Switch.

I never gelled with Sim City back in the day but this is far and away superior. It's just so well designed - satisfying, intuitive... addictive!

It's one of the greatest games i have ever played (and is the only game where i've actually bought the DLC).

Here are some of my creations...

Thank you, the city has seen some minor tweaks and improvements since that video was made too.

I've since added the new vehicles DLC also which means i have TGV's and bullet trains whizzing around the city.

Dang, Vermi, your cities look ace :o . I've not checked out this game before but it seems like that kinda thing that could be right up my street.

I'm gonna do some investigating!

Edit: I'd hoped that it may be on sale on the PlayStation Store... it's not right now but I will look out for this in the future!

Loved the Switch version for the time I could dedicate to it, I still pop back to Preezyville every now and then to see what's up (not much, it turns out, I'm a crap city builder :slol: ). Would love to experience the game on a top end PC to see it in its full glory, must be amazing :datass:

I'm really looking forward to Cities 2 as it should be next gen exclusive so should look quite a bit better on console.
I just hope they add full mod support for the console version this time.

If Cities 2 is PS5 only, then i will likely have to buy a console.

I'm pretty certain any sequel will be PC first or same day. It's originally a PC series and published by Paradox. Having said that, I seem to know more people who have played it on consoles than PC.

Isn't Skylines already the third in Cities series?

Maybe, I'm just hopeful they anounce a sequel within the next 18 months or so.
I think the PS5 and XSX could mean quite a performance jump.
The game doesn't need to look radically better as it already looks great it could just have better traffic management and the population cap increased.

I thought the traffic management in the base game was excellent way back when. I don't know any city builder that does it better (but would be interested to play one as I like the traffic management aspect)

RT sure has done a lot of crazy stuff with the game. Love seeing the creations be built and just get ruined by meteors.

It's an enjoyable game, for sure. Dunno why they felt the need to make a VR version of it, but I suppose I could always check that out when all this heat has gone away.

The mass transit DLC is a definite must have for all traffic management enthusiasts.

God that makes me sound like such a bore :fp:

Footage from one of my earlier cities (but fully installed in Westfield), no creation is complete without the kind of monorail seen in the likes of Brockway, Ogdenville, and North Haverbrook!

This is really weird... I was playing this game earlier today, and the name of my current city is Springfield - the game automatically chose it for me - and I started using the districts feature. So I named my first three districts after Simpsons references... and I went with Brockway, Ogdenville and North Haverbrook

The city centre is now the Hammock District, whilst the northern island is named Monster Island (don't worry; its just a name).

Nice, i named a lot of my districts in Westfield after places i've been (Dunkerque, Camden, Arc de Triomphe etc), and some of my industries with something less serious (make like a tree and leaf, shock and ore etc).
