I spent the best part of the year thinking that Hopeless was a nickname people had given him because of how poorly received his writing's been

I've completely lost track of what comics I get after falling a bit behind in my reading, now I'm just pleasantly surprised at whatever's out in any given week

I've been trying to cut titles, but a good review of Grayson means I've ordered a copy with the Jock cover.

Other new titles:
Rocket Racoon - love this. I feel the series with Young might be short lived, as it must be financially better for him to concentrate on covers. Still the tone, the art and the colours means this us added to the pull list.

Star Lord - Actually thought this was pretty good at establishing the character of Star Lord. Will probably stick with it for the first arc at least.

Brass Sun 1 & 2 - this is a dense book. Initially I thought it wasn't for me but the second issue and the art (Cupboard being a great guy doesn't hurt) means I've added this to my pull list.

Lumberjanes - Absolutely brilliant possibly the best new title this year.

Spread #1 was pretty good. Daredevil continues to be solid. Also read the latest issue of Strange Nation which is a zany read - like a Lois Lane comic crossed with Bubba Ho Tep, with aliens.

MB are doing some pretty nifty comics.

Not sure if anyone else is reading High Crimes, but I highly recommend it.

Cameron Stewart is taking over Batgirl in October - that'll be getting added to the pull list.

The rerelease of the Secret Six trades soon makes me hopeful that Gail Simone is doing a new 52 version.

I like the sound of this.

That new Winter Soldier book does sound cool.

Just finished reading the first Grayson issue and I gotta say the title seems like a lot of fun. I definitely gotta Mark Waid Daredevil vibe while reading it.

Marvel Expands DEATH OF WOLVERINE Event with LOGAN LEGACY Limited Series

Shock horror etc.

I assume this means Daken is surviving UA then.

A Few Marvel Rumours On The Downlow

Gary Frank, who of late has been a DC boy working on Batman Earth One and various covers, is back at Marvel on a high profile book. We are to expect an announcement very soon or for San Diego Comic Con.

And while we’re at it, we are told to keep an eye on October solicitations for more “stealth” cancellations of Marvel comics.

That might include Mighty Avengers, as I’m told that the this book will be cancelled soon as the Avengers line consolidates to Avengers, New, Uncanny and World. But possibly that might see Avengers World go weekly in 2015, in time for the new movie.

And finally (and this is hardly rocket science) expect new X-editor Mike Marts to bring a few Bat-familiar names over to the Xbooks (indeed, we ran a few half an hour ago), but specifically X-Force.

Christ mighty avengers cancelled already  that's what you get for putting Land on art.

October time will be around the time for the next "wave" of whatever the next marvel NOW will be called won't it?

Pretty much all of those Wolverine books are written by Scott Snyder's protegees.

Could that be the influence of new X-editor and ex-Bat editor Mike Marts

that's why.
