Will be interesting to see if we get any news on these marvel star wars comics at SDCC.

Saw on Bleeding Cool's SDCC rumour checklist that they have Aaron and Gillen on Star Wars books. Makes sense for Aaron as he's only on Thor after Original Sin, and I guess Star Wars is what Gillen was talking about when he mentioned his next work being a "dream" or whatever.

Yeah the list:

to be honest, not all that much to potentially get excited about. They've announced the big stuff already with Avengers NOW!

Much more excited for the cinematic universe news.

Bought Arkham Asylum and Batman Vol.1: The Court of Owls for £1.99 each in the Comixology sale. Is The Black Mirror any good? Do I need to know any backstory to that one or have read anything? Bear in mind I pay almost zero attention to DC comics.

Only the single issues are showing up as in the sale for me. All the collected editions still seem to be full price.

It was just a one day sale.

I think the sale was just for Batman Day yesterday.

Btw what's the story with Damian Wayne? An actual child as Robin.

Child of Batman and Talia Al Ghul. I think to fit him into the new 52 timeline they've said he was genetically aged up quicker but that might be wrong as he aged normally before. Trained by the league of assassins since he could walk and genetically engineered to be perfect. His origin is in Batman and Son (which was actually in the Comixology sale yesterday).

Ah. I remember reading something about that.

Marvel Unlimited is 99 cents this month with the code SDCC14. Signed up to see what it's like.

Bleeding Cool was right then that Opena had been working on a graphic novel for months now. Nice to see it's the UXF team involved as well.

Absolutely beautiful art :datass: :datass:

I was hoping to see them on Uncanny Avengers at some point.

Got an email from Comixology and I can now download DRM-free copies of all my Image stuff.

Jason Aaron, John Cassaday, Kieron Gillen, Salvador Larocca, Mark Waid And Terry Dodson – Marvel’s Star Wars Announcements Break Out Before Cup O’Joe

The PR has basically been sent out too soon… and its now being reported that we have Star Wars, written by Jason Aaron and drawn by John Cassaday set after Star Wars Episode IV. Star Wars: Darth Vader by Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larocca also set after IV but from the Empire’s side. And a five issue mini Star Wars: Princess Leia, from writer Mark Waid and artist Terry Dodson, coping with the destruction of her home planet.

and another one ticked off the BC list.

Cassaday :dread: :dread: :dread:

Spider-Woman by Dennis Hopeless and Greg Land is launching this fall - more on that directly after the panel exclusively on Newsarama.

SDCC 2014: SPIDER-WOMAN Spins a SOLO Web

Nrama: Greg, for you this isn’t your first time at the dance with Spider-Woman. What’s your thoughts on her?

Land: She has a stunning look-strong graphic costume with long flowing hair. She will be a blast to draw and can't wait to see how the story unfolds. Our editor Nick Lowe told me there will be plenty of action so I look forward to the design challenge.

the challenge of finding some more porn material to copy and paste maybe.

I feel like I've probably already made a "It's certainly Hopeless if Land is on the book" joke.

Never forget.

John Layman and Javier Garron are the new creative team of Cyclops starting with Issue 6, the panel announced. It's Space Pirate adventures, still - with an emphasis on the pirates. "Really sad that Greg had to step off, but his novel schedule was getting really intense - we'll see him back in the X-world realy soon."

Be interesting to see how Gillen gets on with that Darth Vader book given that he won't be able to write him as a smug, smarmy, snarky, cynical, hipster banana split like everything else he's done.
