I wrote one of the stories contained therein.

I initially wrote a pitch for The Steadfast Tin Soldier but was beaten to the punch. So I looked to Japanese folklore and fairytales and came across what may be the first storytelling example of time travel. I adapted from there...

Getting art in for it and the other tales has been a daily slice of awesome the last few months.

More pimping...at Thought Bubble this year I shall be sharing a table with artist extraordanaire (and friend) Jamie, responsible for such awesome as this:

CBR gives Batman #2 five stars:

“Batman” is one of the few comics in the DC relaunch where the second issue is better than the debut. (....) This is the sort of issue you could drop into anyone’s hand, no matter their level of knowledge or involvement, and make them a fan for life.

Christ fear itself 7 was so bad. This event has been a total disaster. Hope it doesn't hurt Fraction's reputation because you can clearly see this isn't what he wanted to do, if he had had his way this would have stayed as a Thor/Capt crossover event.

Batman 2 on the other hand was strawberry floating amazing. Snyder is untouchable at the moment.

I have read both Detective Comics and Batman from the relaunched line and like them both.

What other titles out of the new releases should I try?

Aside from Batman my other favourite relaunch titles were Action Comics, Swamp Thing, Animal Man and Batwoman.

I have just read Action Comics 1 & 2. So will give the others a go.

Did you not like Detective Comics? I read mixed reviews but have quite enjoyed Tony Daniels take on Batman.

Detective was okay but I'll be dropping it as soon as the first arc finishes. Snyder fulfils all my Batman needs.

You take that back!

Detective comics 1 was superb, as was 2.

Not picked up Batman 2 yet, but it seems like EVERYONE is giving this 10/10.

I've been enjoying Batman (I have yet to pick up #2's for the other DC books I picked up Action, Swamp Thing, Animal Man, Sgt. Rock, Demon Knight, etc) but I'm curious. . . is anyone reading Snyder's SEVERED?

I probably will get a trade at some point as I've enjoyed literally everything I've read of his ( six issues of American Vampire, Detective, Swamp Thing and Batman).

Batman #2 was better than the first issue and that was great to start with.

I have just read a review of Batman #2 elsewhere and I agree with a lot of what was said. it gave it 3.5/5 This issue imo was not 10/10 or 5/5, it was very good but not great.

I'm seriously considering selling off my copies of the singles and buying the trade. Or just buying the trade.

I bet you'd get a silly amount for the complete set of singles on ebay.

Had this preordered for months now, seriously can't wait now I've seen those pics.

There are people on Ebay selling the entire run for over £50 not including delivery. I envy anyone reading that trade for the first time.

I dunno if this is the right place for this, but I just ordered this and this, what with me being a great HP Lovecraft fan.
While going through amazon, though, I discovered a bunch of artists that do similar artwork, namely Zdzilsaw Baksinksi and Wayne Barlowe, and I had a look at their websites and their illustrations are right down my alley. They are simply awesome. I wish I was rich enough to buy all their art books. :(

So what I'm asking is, how many other artists are there out there that do similar stuff? Like nightmarish, Lovecraft style drawings or graphic stories?

Not strictly an answer to your question but a comic of The Dunwich Horror was recently released.
