With the collected volumes do they show up in your library as all the individual issues or just the one volume?

I missed out on the venom sale the other day, really annoyed at that as I've been waiting for Remender's run to go on sale. :fp:

What a week :datass: :datass:

And now a gooseberry fool load of bleeding cool rumours which I'll spoiler:

All Change April

In 2014, it’s DC Comics’ turn to jiggle things around a bit. A bunch of new titles, a bunch of new directions, a bunch of new creative teams, a bunch of swapped creative teams.

You’re going to find out what’s happening with Nightwing, where Dick Grayson has gone and what he has become. You’ll know who his female counterpart is. We might see Booster Gold. I also get the feeling there will be big news for Lex Luthor. More on that later. But there are possibilities, of Raven, Cyborg, Martian Manhunter, Young Justice and plenty more.

Marvel Comics also has plans for April it seems. Many of them involve Spider-Man, and it’s just possible we might get an Amazing Spider-Man and a Superior Spider-Man series ahead of the new film. Then there’s the Ultimate books, with a new relaunch. And there’s still more Marvel NOW books to come…

Dick Grayson gone? To Earth 2 or 3 perhaps with Owlman? Cyborg and Martian with the right creative teams interests me.

Amazing and Superior Spidey? :dread: :dread: Otto survives Goblin Nation with Slott still writing and maybe Miles moves over to 616 with Bendis writing? Ultimate books relaunch, so they are not dying?

The Latest Rumours For X-Men, All-New And Legacy, And For Ant-Man And AI

A rather fun Marvel source came through with a few stories this morning. Before I’d even written one of them up, it had already been confirmed by a PR push given to CBR, that the Indestructible Hulk book would get a major shake up but that Mark Waid would stay on the book.

And indeed, it’s getting a relaunch with Mark Bagley on art as Hulk.

Banner’s in a VERY bad way physically as the series opens up a few hours after the end of the previous one — and you’ll be surprised in whose hands his life rests! For the time being, Banner and Hulk will be divided in a way we’ve never seen before on a long-term basis, and those who are eager to see the Hulk once more be his “own” character will be very pleased, I think.

Image Beautiful Opena art :datass: :datass:

So what else?

Well, I’m told to expect details on All New X-Men #25 this week, which will apparently have a number of high profile guest artsists.

We’ll also find out exactly what is happening with X-Men Legacy, with a strong possibility the Skottie Young will be joining the creative team. The recent listing for the collection of the Human Torch story he drew, on Amazon, might also help that indication. And to look out for clues regarding the recently teased Utopians comic.

That we’ll also see the end of Avengers A.I. in April (not shocked at all by this. Shouldn't have launched with the Avengers name/$3.99 price point), but to expect a new Hank Pym – Ant Man book to spinoff from it immediately afterwards. (by Waid please)

And there are some dodgier rumours regarding the future of Spider-Man, but they are probably worth saving for another post…

Who Is Big Enough To Write John Romita Jr’s Superman?

But the temptation to, basically, do what he wanted with Superman was too enticing, and I understand that Romita took the Kryptonian shilling.

However that’s only half of the story. I’m being told that he’s being teamed up on a Superman project with an enormously A-List comics writer.

Some recently murmurings from Mark Millar may have suggested that DC Comics was going to reteam the Kick Ass creators on their highest profile character…

But a few years down the line a big special project at Marvel or DC would be great once the decks clear a little, just for old times sake.

…but I’m told it’s not Mark. No idea who though… any ideas? He has also talked about working on a creator-owned series with Neil Gaiman…

Morrison perhaps? Snyder's Unchained morphing into this?

Lex Luthor? Time To Get Post-Forever Evil

Could we actually see Lex Luthor taking on a Justice League book? As in… leading it? And just how would everyone react?

Lex leading the JL? Oh yes please.

Keeping Otto as Superior in some form after Peter comes back like DC did with Dick Grayson and Bruce Wayne would be alright by me. Ditto a Lex Luthor book, I've been enjoying Forever Evil.

I think it might be Peter as Superior (using everything Otto built/left him to be a better Spidey) trying to rebuild his reputation and Miles as Amazing coping in the 616 universe and being the "liked" spidey. Remember in that McNiven All New Marvel NOW teaser that Spidey was in his traditional red/blue costume? I think that's the only thing from that teaser we haven't learnt about what it relates to.

Taking advantage of all of Otto's hard work. :( Otto's reaction to that would be too good to see him killed off.

It would be hilarious if Peter returns and somehow proves what Otto did so his "rep" isn't ruined, then just chucks all of Otto's improvements away whilst all "lol don't need this gooseberry fool" and goes back to his usual unable to balance his normal life and superhero life shtick.

Holy gooseberry fool:

What Future For Spider-Man?

Okay, welcome to rumourville. We have competing rumours at work here, as the Dire Straits song has it “two men say they’re Jesus, one of them’s gotta be wrong”.

And so it is with what we are to expect from Marvel’s Spider-Man comics, according to rumours reaching Bleeding Cool from informed contacts.

Informed contacts can be wrong, of course. And in this case, one of them has to be.

There’s one we’ve run, that Superior Spider-Man will be cancelled, and Spider-Man will receive a Marvel NOW relaunch in April, with Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos.

Then there are two more that came alongside this morning’s other Marvel rumours.

One, that Dan Slott moves over to an Amazing Spider-Man twice-a-month relaunch, but that Superior Spider-Man will somehow continue, once a month, written by Peter David.

The other is that Dan Slott stays on Superior Spider-Man, one a month, freeing Slott to write other books like Silver Surfer and more. But Matt Fraction takes over Superior Spider-Man with Salvador LaRocca. If there is any validity to these, the idea of having both Amazing and Superior Spider-Man books must be attractive to Marvel, especially considering the success that Superior has brought them. Could they have both Peter and Otto Spider-Men? Or could one of them be Miles Morales? Or Miguel O’Hara?I don’t have a clue. But I have been enjoying Superior Spider-Man rather a lot of late, it would be sad to see him go.

Image

To be honest I don't mind both staying (although 3 Spidey books a month at $3.99 :dread: :dread: ) but it's who is behind the mask for me. Fraction/Larroca is going to need a brilliant Spidey because that team does not excite (although Fraction makes more sense as he is currently short a big marvel title). Apparently those two did a good Spidey Annual before OMD though?

Peter David writing Miguel O'Hara again plz.

I wonder if it will be similar to the new Avengers World title. Part of the ongoing story set in Avengers/New Avengers but sort of a not 100% necessary sister title, sort of like Avenging Spidey/Superior Team Up. Although using the Amazing/Superior name just to give it extra "showbiz" would annoy me. Marvel is really pissing me off with how so many titles are either a Avengers or X-Men related in the title just so they can charge $3.99. Avengers A.I/Avengers Arena/Avengers Undercover could easily have had a different name but use the Avengers name as a marketing gimmick.

I know Fraction did an annual which was a Parker/Stark team-up issue. Think Otto was in it actually or that might have been something else.

If there is going to be a Miguel solo book it seems a missed opportunity if Peter David doesn't write it, assuming he's well enough.

That was for Invincible Iron Man. #6 or 7 was a solo Spidey/Iron Man story then before Fear Itself there was a small arc with Otto threatening to bomb a city if Stark didn't fix him.

Looking it up they also did a pre-OMD annual issue for Sensational Spidey which apparently was well received and showed how good Peter and MJ being married can be.

Larroca's art lately though has been shocking :dread: :dread:

He's writing the new X-Factor so hopefully he has recovered?

Oh yeah treated myself to American Vampire vol 1, turned up today. Will read ASAP :datass:

Just watched the Dredd movie and thought I might have a look at the comics. Is there an origin story or any decent stories anyone can recommend?

My LCS says that if you have a max of 4 weeks to pick up your sub, otherwise it might be cancelled. Getting 3 weeks worth sometimes is :dread: & at the same time.

Dan Abnett And Andy Lanning’s Guardians Of The Galaxy To Be Collected In Full

YES!

With all these complete collection paperbacks happening I was thinking that I'd quite like ones for the Heroic Age Avengers teams, 2 volumes each. Secret being the best of course

Also a Mighty Avengers Bendis/Slott Omnibus. Why hasn't this happened yet? (Or New Avengers vol 2 :x :x )

Was interested in that GotG collection, but it's not a hardback omnibus.
