This is another reason trades are better, you have the whole story at once. There was probably some foreshadowing towards that ending at some point when the story started a year ago but I've long forgotten that.

Maybe I should have reread all the issues beforehand like I did Zero Year.

I topped reading The Wake after it jumped forward to the future. I just completely lost interest when that plot change happened.

Uncanny Avengers in October 2012 was the first Marvel Now book. They're relaunching some books now with the banner "All New Marvel Now" for reasons.

Trade recommendations you can buy off Amazon:

Uncanny Avengers
Avengers by Hickman
New Avengers by Hickman
Superior Spider-Man
Daredevil by Mark Waid
Captain America by Remender
Thor God of Thunder by Jason Aaron

I would recommend reading all of Rick Remender's Uncanny X-Force series before reading beyond Uncanny Avengers Volume 1 though.

The last half of the series of that was notably worse.

I bought the Walking Dead humble bundle the other day (first 30 issues plus about 40 issues of various other comics which I'm unfamiliar with).

As a complete n00b to digital graphic novels/comics would I benefit from using dedicated comic ereader software or will something like Kobo or Kindle for Windows be fine?

Finished Criminal book 1 (Coward) by Ed Brubaker and art by Sean Phillips.

Probably out of place in this thread with mostly just DC and Marvel stuff being posted up, but as far as crime fiction and graphic novels go, this is something everyone should check out.

Buy from Amazon: £8.29

I use Comical if I'm reading something on a PC. I prefer reading comics on a tablet though and use both ComicZeal and Comixology on my iPad. I've got a few comics in my Kindle but the size isn't really ideal for reading that media.

I love everything Brubaker and Phillips have done together.

In fact I've just read all 24 issues of Fatale this week. Not my favourite of theirs (that is either Sleeper or Criminal) but well worth reading.

Fatale's pretty good, similar in some ways to American Vampire.

This week:

Superior Spider-Man #32

Return of the king :datass:

Lazarus #10
Moon Knight #6
New Avengers #22

Is it this week Bendis' complete character assassination of Richard Rider begins in that Guardians of the Galaxy Original Sin tie-in arc?

August 27th apparently, that's sure to be an entertaining issue. Speaking of Bendis retcons I enjoyed reading (recent Uncanny X-Men spoilers) that Xavier apparently married Mystique before he died.

Judging from reviews, I wouldn't get too excited about that. Though weekly books would definitely read better in trade I would guess.
