Also it's worth pointing out you can buy DC comics digitally through Ipad apps or such on their day of release now.

Just read Snyder's Batman 1 - yup I'll take bucketloads of Snyder books please. American Vampire, Tec (now Batman) and Swamp Thing are all top class. Really really enjoyed it.
Love me some Harvey Bullock and the fact that he didn't bat an eye-lid when Batman appeared. He's the cop whose had the most dealing with Bat other then Gordon and it shows. Loved it!

Blue Beetle 1 - hmm.
Not bad but everything from the last series is done and gone. And when you enjoyed the last series as much as I do that's a little hard to swallow. The support cast in the last series were so well realised that you really cared for the characters. Still willing to give it some time as what a book is not isn't a good reason to not read it. Very much a set-up issue mind.

Christ Invincible Iron Man really has been ruined by Fear Itself atm. It's just so pointless and wasted.

Cut back on the Marvel and pick up some more of the new 52? The only Marvel stuff I'm currently buying are Daredevil, Amazing Spider-Man, Venom, Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate X-Men and Ultimates.

Ultimate X-Men #1
- Better than I was expecting as I wasn't that impressed with Spencer's X-Men segments during Ultimate Fallout. Seeing that Kitty is going to be using her Shroud costume again made me happy.

Daredevil #4- Still enjoying the more light-hearted Daredevil.

Nightwing #1- Not quite as good as I was expecting but it was a solid first issue.

Batman #1- As I expected it would be, this is my favourite book of the relaunch so far. Snyder  Great characterisations from everyone and Damian's one line got a laugh. It was a good sized book as well, excellent value for money.

I finished Final Crisis and have just started New Frontier.

Christ, considering it's about (more or less) the same bunch of characters, the two couldn't be any more different!

I take it their were various other mini-series that linked in with Final Crisis? There seemed to be lots of narrative leaps with little explanation as to what's just happened, although I have noticed that in some of Morrison's work before. Sea Guy springs to mind actually, starts of as a kind of buddy-cop adventure and ends up in a sea of chocolate. Honestly.

Anyway, yes, New Frontier seems excellent, I loved the first issue of it (the one with the soldiers), cracking little story in itself.

Still waiting on my monthly delivery from A Place in Space so I'm way behind on a lot of the new 52 stuff already. I did see that scene from Catwoman #1 though.

I didn't buy it, just read it :shifty: I'm cutting out the singles atm, there isn't alot there that really interests me anymore (bar anything Snyder related) and even my favourite character in iron man is rubbish atm so I've decided to just not bother with them all and collect them in paperback form when they're released. I've read most of the new 52 and Batman was really the only thing that I really enjoyed. My main problem with invincible iron man is everything happening in it related to Tony could easily be in Fear Itself, but it's put here just to sell another comic. I really can't wait for Fear Itself to be over now. Then we'll get the new Defenders team written by Fraction, new Avengers line up with a good artist finally, Schism will be over (although that will mean Wolverine getting his own series Image) and hopefully iron man will be able to concentrate on it's own storyline again.

Oh yeah read about that on the ign comic reviews, they were not fans of that issue

There were but I don't think any were written by Morrison.

I've just had to download this to see what scene you're talking about.

...

what is this i don't even

Even ignoring how terrible the comic is, they've erased Selina's knowledge of Batman's identity? :( I can't believe they've done this.

My mum and dad got me the Marvel platinum collection Captain America book and it looks really good. I never noticed the inherent irony in making the biggest piece of Marvel's WWII propaganda an anti-Nazi Aryan.

Yeah, I'm wondering how far it's going to go. I know Snyder said that a lot of the elements from the Reborn stuff will (somehow) be left in but that's a pretty big one not to have. Especially considering the story it took place in. Does that meant we'll be seeing no Tommy Elliot too?

Here's the ending that was originally planned:

Hush was in Gates of Gotham which Snyder also says definitely still stands post-relaunch. I'm going to just assume that Catwoman #1 is set in the past and Selina and Bruce's history remains intact. I'm also assuming Detective Comics #1 was set in the past (despite what the writer says) as it doesn't make much sense otherwise. Stuff like Jeremiah Arkham being in charge of the Asylum in Detective and being an inmate in Batman #1 works fine if DC is a flashback.

Hmmm, interesting. Thanks, I didn't know that and it would have no doubt confused the hell out of me when I got round to reading it.

Tidied up my monthlies today. So, so far behind on American Vampire and Sweet Tooth. I look forward to the inevitable binge sessions on both :D

If Flash #1, Fury Of Firestorm The Nuclear Men #1 and Green Lantern New Guardians #1 had come out any other week I might have taken a chance with them tomorrow but there are so many other comics I want to buy.

So as not to derail the Movie News thread?

I paid money for that garbage. :fp:

Ouch. You didn't buy Red Hood and the Outlaws as well did you?

Thankfully not. Catwoman is the second worst comic I've read all year and unless issue 2 is significantly less smutty and shows signs of developing a proper plot it'll be the first new 52 title I cut. I've picked a fair amount of new 52 stuff and so far and I'm shocked DC let that garbage out as the standard has been pretty good so far.
Anyone get Demon Knights?

Yeah Ultron War has been foreshadowed for a while.

Ignore that and just read Batman.
