EXCLUSIVE: There is a glimmer of hope that there could be a sixth season of cult comedy series Community. I have learned that Hulu is in talks with Community producer Sony Pictures TV for more original installments of the show, which was cancelled by NBC earlier this month. Sources stress that conversations are preliminary and is unclear whether they would lead to a deal, but I hear there is will on both sides. That includes Community creator Dan Harmon, who confessed on his blog that he had warmed up to the possibility of continuing the show elsewhere, changing his stance from “eh” when Sony TV called him with the news of the series’ cancellation by NBC to “sure, let’s talk” two days later. Said Harmon, “I’m not going to be the guy that re-cancels cancelled Community.”

Probably a couple of years too late, the latest season was good but the show ran its course a while back and now it's faintly desperate.

A one-off TV movie for Hulu would have worked as a farewell but the whole #SixSeasonsAndAMovie thing kinda forces them into doing a whole new season then a film - which as you say is getting a little desperate.

Nice. Heard that today was the last day it could get renewed due to actors contracts so they got that in just in time.

Be interesting to see what they do now that it's all online. I'm fine with one more series.

And a movie? Sony exec confirmed that's in the pipeline here: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-f ... lks-715907

What are the prospects for Community beyond season six? Is this a final season? Could it hit seven seasons?

I don't know, let's see how our movie does! Isn't that our plan? There's no way we're not making the movie now! I think once we make the movie, let's look up and decide how much more Community the world wants. We promised six seasons and a movie, how much more do you want?! [Laughs.] … I'd be lying if I told you that we have not had some very early and preliminary conversations that are very exciting about what a potential movie could be and who might direct it. It's early but it's completely in our thought process.

Sure, I hope the #sixseasonandamovie comes to fruition. As long as they keep the movie to around an 1hr 30 mins and they come up with a story that is as epic the paintball episodes then yeah let them see it out.

If #SixSeasonsAndAMovie is pulled off it'd be a pretty amazing story. It would need to end there though

I love the Guardian, I really do. Every now and again though I get a glimpse of what it must look like to a Daily Mail reader. See if you can guess where I stopped reading this :

http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio ... things-die

Guy who has never watched the show claims they should let it die after a "drawn out death." If the 5th season hadn't been so good I'd have agreed but Jesus, why would anyone who hasn't watched the show feel this was something they should write?

At least it's better than The Times' writer who said they'd never watched Game of Thrones, jumped in at season 4 and then said the series is gooseberry fool because they didn't know who anyone was or what was happening.

Game of Thrones is like Marmite. Or, to be more specific, like an old jar of Marmite: a sticky, cloying, unmanageable mess that half the population can only be fond of because it reminds them of when they were spotty teenagers obsessed with fantasy roleplay, naked women in Viking hats and toast. Halfway through the first episode of season four, an episode so hotly anticipated it crashed the HBO server, I did not understand anything that was going on.

This was my fault, because I have a life and I hadn't watched the previous three seasons.

Some of the Guardian blogs are atrocious, but you should really not judge a paper by some of it's shitter online blog content. That one was pretty specialist, though.

From what I remember there wasn't much more. He claims he went back and watched the earlier seasons and still hated it.
