PostCommunity YouTube Original Gaming Content (TM)

We have an active streaming/twitch thread but the one I found for youtube was last posted in in 2016... so I though it better to make a new thread rather than necro that old one!(?)

I don't youtube myself but for a few years now I have been guesting on a channel (ProjectFalconPunch) to talk about my GOTY picks with Dan (samus_killer on (S)ONM). Just today my 2019 video finally got uploaded... although I don't blame Dan, I made some pretty obscure choices that he had to go and collect footage for

Anyone else done anything recent they want to share?

Will check this out. I do reviews and want to look at doing more, but I have a thread for the reviews so don't want to spam up here as I'd feel like I'd be taking the piss.

My gaming content is made up of PS4 gameplay clips (created using the share button), the latest is from Cities Skylines as the sunset harbour dlc has added helicopters to my game...

Now I have Cities Skylines through PS+ I'm really scared to start it - town building is a time killer for me and I've seen how much it has got hold of you verm

Im always thinking of what YouTube Videos I can make... I like making my SNES games ones but there pretty time consuming particularly if I do a new game I havent already done a written review of, its the capturing, editing ,if its a new one making a script.

I think making videos makes you appreciate other peoples videos more. Watching the one you posted OR im like oh so they needed to find this footage and do this and that and it just makes you see all the craft that went into it instead of just the end product.

Been doing youtube for a few years now and its been a wildly inconsistent ride so far - views spiked in the hundreds for my BotW and Mario Odyssey videos, mostly everything else just about limping into double digits, but for the past 5 months or more I have to wonder whether the algorithm has shut me out completely. :dread:

I still dedicate myself in much the same way as I always have done because I'm driven by my passion. I'm on auto-pilot, more than happy to take off regardless of whether anybody else is along for the ride.

Also been poking around certain channels from folks around here these past couple months. P3DZ, I can't help but notice, is in a similar position, so props to him for staying consistent with his output lately. :toot:

I wanted to share this somewere and this seems as good place as any.... I kept getting bombarded by adds for apple, the same add when trying to get through a recent series of walking dead and it led to the following low quality video which ammused me oh its NSFW

So you're an apple fan kerr?

I'm happy as that video in the OP got watched by the devs of Soul Searching themselves, and they liked it! I'm all for postmodernism but it was nice to be told my understanding of the story was the intended one all the same :P

Yeah not so much a fan of the old Apple lol

It is great when a studio actually reaches out to you isent it. I had the makers of Castle Crashers contact me at one point and they were super super polite. Its one of the only times I have been contacted by a games makers and much better than when Sega contacted me when I put a video up talking about leaked footage of Sonic 4 and they threatend to sue me, that was awful as it was one of the highest viewing figures id ever had for a video and Sega got YouTube to pull it ouch.

I'm really enjoying doing stuff, tbh. My views are pretty bad, tbh, but it's still fun to do it all. I just wish I could do more and try different things. I'm hindering myself because I won't use a camera too.

Maybe all of us who do it should try to make some kind of co-operative thing, all film a little something thats combined into one video, you never know it might help push us all to new people as we might have diffrent admitidly small in my case viewer bases.

Why not? Some kind of occasional collaborative thing? How you'd go about doing though I have no idea. Unless you do the occasional joint review or multiplayer session that's edited and then where do the videos go? Who's channel do we make another called errr 'Little Boys with Boy Toys Club'?

The easiest thing would be a joint review of a game or something similar and then do it on 1 channel one time, another channel another time and then promote each other regularly and more so when you are taking part on the other channel?

I really would have no issue with doing things with people from here though,

Yep that would be the best way I think as well, joint reviews on diffrent channels... maybe we could even look at adding something at the end of videos that says part of the Grcade Collective or somesuch and mentions other peoples channels etc...

An unlisted example of the sort of thing I mean for the end of videos.

If people want to be involved and they give me the OK they can provide pictures and words they want used then I am happy to put it togther... Also there would be stuff we might want to discuss for example I review games and horror films and if your channels aimed at kids and you guys only wanted me to show your thing on the end of game stuff that would be ok etc...

I think it could help us all a fair bit if anyone wants audio of me talking about anything to slot in a video feel free to ask... the next video I know im doing thats decent not something like f off bird is a review of Super Ghouls and Ghosts for the snes , I have a whole written script but if someone would want there oppinion of that included in my video I could work that out and splice it in with a thank you at the end and such if you wanted to send audio.
