My top 5 games of 2020 as hosted by Dan/samus_killer!

There are timestamps in the description if you want to skip through the choices. Right at the end I talk about/plug my game Unawakening too :toot:

Getting that in early aren't you? Wasn't your "best of 2019" not out until about May or something?

Judging by the first post of this thread you are correct!

I think Dan was just really busy at the start of last year. It's his channel and he does all the editing that makes me sound vaguely engaging, I just turn up for the recording!

The other videos are also worth checking out, probably more than mine! The two videos previous to me have been PushDustIn who works for Did You Know Gaming and Yuriofwind who has something like 277k subscribers to his own channel. It's very cool that Dan talks to all these people!

I went to Bath summer 2016 and if what I saw normal, a very busy town centre with many tourists, then yeah the change is noticeable. Also, Bath still has a HMV - bless it! It's funny your shots from the bridge showing the river brought back a flood of memories. I went with my girlfriend we stayed outside of town somewhere, and got off a bus just around there. Then across the road from there near the other bus stops a, maybe, homeless man came running with something in his hands. He'd stolen the charity box pet from Nandos. The staff caught him and pinned him down, he was quite athletic but looked scared then he got away. Sorry, I had to share!

Mr Beast is absolutely massive, he has over 50m subscribers and will go on to overtake PewDiePie in subs. Whilst PDP has good viewership 5m approx per video Mr Beast has all the kids watching him and regularly gets 30-50 million views per video, crazy. I watched that and you're right, it was a rant! But you also sounded very confident in your delivery.

I was worried for a second, I was like 'has it been a year since the 2019 one?', spending most of last year working from home or in lockdown has this weird affect where the days are sometimes long but the months seem to fly by :?

Anyway I loved the video particularly your thoughs on last of us 2 and agree with what you said. Always nice hearing people take on LoU2, its one of those games that are so deep I enjoy reading thoughtful reviews or watching analysis videos nearly as much as playing the game.

You maybe interested in this breakdown of the game. Its only 10 mins long and one of my favourite analysis video and retrospectively made me appreciate the game even more.

Also 600 hours on Animal Crossing!

Nice video Kerr. Sold - I'm going to one of these.

I also have a 'Anbernic Retro Game Console , 4K HDMI TV Output Video Game Console Built-in 843 Classic Game Console with 2PCS Joystick - Black' which I really like. You probably won't need one as you sound way more competent at installing Roms and stuff than me (I'm one of the few dopes that managed to break my Snes mini trying to install more games on it - which is a shame because I loved that thing). But for me it was nice to have every retro game I could imagine from Master System to the handheld consoles all the way up to PS1 all installed and ready to go, all very fine emulations. No complaints here and I think worth a look.

Do you still have the broken SNES mini it could be fixed if someone sent you the original files. pre covid I'd have offered to do it for you but my SNES mini and all my stuff I could do it with are at my Dad's and he is shielding.

Thanks for watching (listening?), glad you found it interesting! I just watched that TLOU2 video and yeah, I agree with a lot of it, that puts across a lot of what I felt the game was doing very concisely. Like I said in the video it's almost crazy I didn't place it at my number one and that's only because the genres are so incomparable.

Er, didn't want to make a new thread for this but our game Chinatown Detective Agency is featured in The Big Adventure event going on on Steam at the moment. We recorded a stream of the Director, the Art Director and me (writer/narrative designer) talking over us playing the free prologue.

It'll be streamed at 9pm GMT here:

https://store.steampowered.com/sale/The ... ntureEvent

For some weird reason we're not showing up on the schedule but I've been assured we've still got our timeslot!

EDIT: We've also been featured in a bunch of "Most Anticipated 2020" lists, including Gamespot, Polygon and GQ!

Hey thanks for the thought. So technical explanation of this is going to make me sound like a Nan trying to figure out texting on a new phone. Yeah I still have it boxed and in perfect condition (except it doesn't work, lol). So from memory I put a load of extra snes games on it (maybe about 15 extra games) followed the method correctly and it all worked including the new games. Later tried to add some more games following the same method and the controllers wouldn't do anything. I can still switch it on and reset it but can't do anything with either controller.

I think I had all the original files on my laptop. So I got rid of all the ROMs I addded and put only the original games back on. Turned it back on all started up fine and everything on screen looked right but still neither controller would work. I looked up the problem on the net and tried a few basic fixes but still can't get the controllers to respond

Is the show streaming at 9 or your game specifically? If its the game I'll tune in and stream later, if its the show and the game will be on at some point during it, then I am unsure.

It's just us! There's 3 games streaming simultaneously but we're on our own exclusive stream. It wasn't displayed on the front page (weird backend error) but we're there now!
