It's so small I forget I have one in between some books in the bedroom. It's not even connected to screen, it just lives there. I found it in a bin after all.

The GameCube isn't much bigger to begin with however, if it only had a slot loading drive and the bottom inch wasn't totally empty, which of course the Wii does and is basically the same hardware. Amazing considering the console easily rivalled both ps2 and Xbox.

Not been the biggest fan of the console designs this gen, the Xbox One S is probably a favourite as it looks really cool and sleek whilst the Switch is quite nice looking but I put that down largely to the inclusion of colourful joycons. The other Xbox and Playstation models just look like any other set-top box, which I guess is what they were going for but I like games consoles to look like their own thing.

The Gamecube is still comfortably my favourite design, compact and well-designed. It also just looks fun, which for me should be key in a console design. Love the range of colours too, yeah we got the usual black/silver systems but Indigo and Spice were clearly the winners :datass: Always been a big fan of the Dreamcast as well for similar reasons, sleek and compact and really smart looking. The original Wii looked very sleek and cool at the time although I don't think its looks have aged as well as other systems. The PS1/PS2 redesigns are lovely too.

Obviously the best looking console of all time is this bad boy...

For the next gen above all else I'd like to see a bit more colour, sure black and white fit well into a standard TV set-up but a bit of colour just makes it look that bit more fun!

Just as long as Sony and Microsoft stay away from crappy case lighting.

Yey, a next gen console with see through case and zany fan lights :fp: .

my favourite console design was the Gamecube but yeah I doubt that'll happen again. I like the PS4's design and don't mind if the ps5 goes for a similar thing tho
the og xbox one is absolutely hideous tho so I hope they change that for the new xboxes

Not really bothered what it looks like. It’s not as if I’ll be physically interacting with it once it’s plugged in. I’d be happy for it to be tucked behind the TV, like my docked Switch.

You don't cuddle your consoles? And you call yourself a game!?

Not while they’re plugged in. Once bitten, and all that.

Easily the best looking console ever.

Shame they never reached the UK.

Gameboy Advanced SP

Still one of my favourite handheld designs. Improved over the original GBA in every way: sleeker and more compact, better screen, rechargeable battery built in as standard.

The sp rocks, the only issue is minor cramping after hours. Still thinking about modding an original model for kicks.

I agree.

The base PS4 is my favourite - sharp, sophisticated and manages to be as understated as the Xbox One without forgoing it's own character.

This was the prettiest gaming device I've ever owned.

Utterly pointless, but still lovely.

A next gen version of that with a modern screen with zero bezel could be a pretty handy travel console.
