Completed. Great game but the ending was a bit flat with some stuff being built up and going nowhere.

Bit of a crappy move by 505 games, Control whilst a brilliant game isn't a title people are gonna double dip for. But I do wonder if early next year companies will make you pay for next gen updates, as I feel the free upgrades is just a push to make up for a lack of new launch titles.

Out of curiosity does Alan wake stuff appear on all platforms? I thought MS owned the rights but wonder if Remedy kept them so an Alan wake 2 could come to Xbox and PS5.. wonder if that means the original could be ported too. Reminds me of the original mass effect eventually going to PS3 after 2 and 3..

Microsoft don't own the IP rights to Alan Wake, it's sequel (if it happens) will be on all platforms.

Yeah had a Google after posting. Looks like Microsoft owned the publishing rights to Alan Wake but Remedy reacquired them a couple of years ago..

I'd assume them doing that means they want to do more with it as would've been a costly exercise just to use him in DLC for this so hopefully points to a sequel. A next gen remaster of the original could be amazing too. The dark shadowy setting and use of lighting could look spectacular with all the next gen bells and whistles.

I got an SSD to see if it addressed the overly long load times if you die. It loaded the game much faster but since I didn't die, I don't know. Either way, I had a blast, the sound design is incredible and enjoyed the fights I had.

I know it was rumoured a few times but do we know if this is actually likely to turn up on Game Pass at some point soon? I'm keen to play it but have been holding off buying it for fear it would then release on GP the next day! :lol:

Just pre-ordered this ultimate edition. Never played it, just read thread and realised I've also got a PS5 game too for less than £30. Nice 8-)

That's exactly what I've been thinking. But I'm hoping it will go down a bit more come Black Friday.

It was on PS Now so conceivably as there's often an overlap of games with Game Pass it's possible. There has been controversy about Remedy only giving the next-gen upgrade to owners of the recent Ultimate edition, so it may be that GP gets the current-get version only. But who knows!

Yes, I used them for Gran Turismo Sport. Box art was the european version (had English, but also featured other languages) but apart from that minor thing, no problems.
