Not been announced afaik, it’s still just listed as mid-2020.

Finished the Foundation DLC and it's much of the same; great world building, 99% fun if repetitive gameplay, strawberry floating stupid boss fight.

Who thought it was a good idea to have a boss fight in a room that's drenched in red, gets even redder when you're low health, fighting an enemy who's basically just a bit less red that all the rest of the red.

I swear when I dealt the killing blow I only knew the boss was even there because my crosshairs changed shape on a screen of uniform red.

Having only recently played Alan Wake (and loving it), this has me very excited (probably the only bit of the whole presentation that did).

I'm hoping the base game will come to Game Pass soon, if not i will definitely have to pick it up in a sale. Love all the Remedy stuff i have played (i was the one person that really enjoyed Quantum Break).

I only bought Control because of the Alan Wake connections.

Luckily it was a stonker of a game.

It leaves PS Now in 25 days, so there's a good chance it'll hit GP after that. It's a cracking game (ooooozes atmosphere) and you should play it asap, despite the fps issue. I'll be replaying it on PS5. (Hoping for a collected edition.)

Thanks, and yes, its a strong rumour that it will be hitting Game Pass soon after. The fact that Alan Wake was recently made it over to GP seems reassuring.

There are quite a long list of recent PS4 games that i am now not buying until the PS5 launches (hopefully with performance boosts). I'm also hoping the PS5 is close to silent when running (like my 1X), but we shall see.

Alan Wake is Remedy's best game by a distance.

I never got around to reading the book that came with the collector's edition.

I have that book knocking about somewhere. Must dig it out. The sad thing is, Since AW on XB1 BC isn't X1X Enhanced I'm kinda hoping the Series X does 'something' to it because, facial animations aside, it's still a VERY good looking game. It'll get HDR at the very least...

Why did Alan Wake 2 never happen?

The first was brilliant.

It really was. Like a more linear, more polished Deadly Premonition. Perhaps less quirky, but still lots of proper weird stuff.

Yep, they really nailed the "Stephen King" vibe too.

I prefer the higher combat to no combat ratio of Control over Alan Wake. Ditto the style of gameplay and plot/story. And the atmosphere. Control's only downside is it's awful fps, and some of the bosses being a pain.

I'm gonna wait and give Control another shot on Series X because my strawberry floating god the load times when you die are insane.

I never got bored of AW's combat, I honestly think it's a better game than Resi 4.

Don’t forget the map being dodgy as strawberry float to interpret.

But seriously each and every boss can go strawberry float themselves. Zero fun to be had.

Oh yeah, good point. Map and the game world when you're close to the office corridors was a pain to figure out.

I feel a bit like Homer running after the BBQ pig :slol: It's still good! It's still good!

First impressions are I'm loving everything about this. Going out of my way to check everywhere to look for all the lore documents because I love that sort of weird horror stuff.

I wouldn’t mind a port of Alan Wake on the PS4.

I remember that Alan Wake himself isn’t very fit and end up out of breath after just very seconds of running, which can be annoying on certain sections on the most difficult setting. And the annoying slow motion thing going on when the enemy appears several times in a row.

And I still strawberry floating love it. One of my favourite games.
