My only issue with the map was that it was bugged during my entire playthrough and half the time the layout didn't actually load when you opened it, just the name tags. You'd have to transition to another area or fast travel to temporarily fix it but eventually it will just vanish again.

Never really had a problem with the map though. Especially since there are signs everywhere.

I enjoyed the ending but it did feel a bit like sequel bait.

There are secret locations not highlighted by the signs. In a usual Metroid-vania game, you'll often use the map to work out where it is.

It isn't possible with Control's map as it's overlayered several "floors" into one flat image.

That happened to me as well. I just waited there patiently until it loads.

Also there's a massive slowdown just after you unpause the game. Granted, it took a few seconds for it to resume normal. The game engine was developed by Remedy themselves wasn't it? I hope they do fix it for future games, not being like Telltales.

Yeah I got that slowdown as well, though mostly when I resume the game from the Xbox being suspended, so I found it rather understandable, and it never happened mid game play.

This really should be down to £20 by now. It’s being stubborn.

Been playing this all morning. Love the world, weapons, abilities, enemies, upgrades and feel.

The map and objectives are bloody horrendous though.

Any tips on what to focus on for upgrades or weapons?

Wish my image sig would work

You can max out most stats without much difficulty so it doesn’t really matter that much, but I’d focus on health.

Finally got it and it's really good, the story feels like something from the X files and the combat is awesome with better force powers than Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order.

I think the timing on this expansion is really annoying. Between Doom on Friday, HL: Alyx on Monday and FF7 in a few weeks I can't see myself getting the time for this soon.

Which is a shame because Control was bloody good. Probably my GOTY 2019 actually.

I will get to it, but I don't know when.

It’s a pretty baffling time to release it alright.

Playing this on a OG base PS4 and loving it. Yeah it has performance issues but... meh, it's still good fun! Worth checking out just to experience the architecture and atmosphere of The Oldest Building.

Has anyone played the DLC? What's it like?

A mate said it's fantastic. Said new powers are fun to play with, and some side challenges are crazy. I'm holding out on the expansion pass to be in a sale before I take the plunge.

Having finished off all but one of the three games I mentioned earlier (Just Doom to deal with) I may dip back into this and get the DLC once I get paid.

Certainly nothing else on the immediate horizon that I'm interested in.

:toot: Salvador down (last night) and beat the anchor directly* after.

*Directly in the sense that I went from one boss to another :slol: It took me slightly more than one attempt to beat it. My excuse is that while it was a straight forward enough of a fight, my mind was on other things and so I kept making silly mistakes.

Story complete. Lots of side missions to do (and I didn't even get the shield ability ) and seeing as I got it via PS Now, I may even pick up the DLC if I don't feel burned out after I'm done with main game.

Final outfit: very dapper.
