I saw a screenshot of it on Twitter, just below the words "strawberry float. Off." :slol:

In other news, the mother-in-law walked into the living room today, handed my missus a sprig of mint from the garden, and told her to smell it, which she did. She then tells us she can't smell anything!

Given that some people experienced anosmia and ageusia in the lead up to a positive test, we were concerned, to say the least. So we told her to eat something, to see if she could still taste anything. After which, this exchange:

"Oh, it's alright! I can still taste things, I had a banana."
"Oh that's good, it's probably nothing then."
"It didn't really taste of anything, though."
"What do you mean it didn't taste of anything?"
"Well bananas never really taste of anything..."
"So why did you choose a banana??"

I swear, when I said my in-laws would be the death of me, it didn't mean it strawberry floating literally... :dread:

 personally I've always thought bananas taste quite strongly, you know of banana.

I feel for you though as that sounds very similar to my mother in law.

I saw that earlier, something about them having their lives turned upside down so they deserve a round of applause...

Yep, clapping fixing everything.

I'm going to see if I can get a campaign going on Facebook in support of the unsung heroes of this story, the people getting all the grief. Clap for the 5G installation engineers.

The Express posted this headline that many will interpret is them reporting a fact not reported speech.
Coronavirus 5G: Why the new £20 note has the coronavirus symbol and 5G beacon

Thing is some of these 5g posts, videos etc are clearly people taking the piss but It’s becoming so hard to tell the difference as some of the people that believe this kind of nonsense are so bloody insane

This country can't even turn into a police state without becoming a twee, little England parody of ourselves.

It was a bright cold day in April, the police were banning sunbathing and the clocks were striking thirteen.

Popped up on my town's fb page this morning. :dread:

Around here of course, they're the same 'little heroes' who spent all last summer raising hell on my driveway and riding their bikes across my front garden.

Heroes
...
HEROES

I guarantee the person who made that starts most conversations at the moment with "OK So, as a mum".

Heroes. Get to strawberry float. People like Denny and Bunni are risking their own health every day to care for people. Your little gooseberry fool is not a hero, the little scrotes won't even remember this period in their lives beyond their mum stinking of proseco at 10am and shouting at them more than usual.

Heroes is obviously ridiculous and bullshit, but let's not go to far the other way.

Kids are less capable of understanding and processing situations like this, disruption from routines has a larger effect on them as a result and this happening during a formative period in their lives will have implications for their development and general health and wellbeing.

But yeah clapping for them is still bizarre!

Is the implication of this that anyone who we don't clap for is therefore unimportant? Will we eventually have to clap for every single possible subdivision of the population; a neverending endurance march of clapping where anyone seen falling behind is reported to the social cohesion police?

I was only joking when I wrote this a few days ago, but maybe it is where we are heading.
