I assume we don't really have any rights if our employers are adamant we have to come into the office as normal at the moment? If we refuse to go in, we get sacked and have to deal with the consequences?

This whole situation is causing me so much stress. Listen to the government warnings to protect my life and others or listen to work and get sick to stop them going bust.

If you or someone in household doesn’t have symptoms I don’t think so

All the guidance on WFH I’ve seen is ‘where possible’ , ‘seem to agree with employer’ etc

I'd have thought that the urgency of obtaining the kit would have meant that all purchasing channels would have been used. I can understand the desire to route the money to UK firms but in this case I'm not sure that should be the main objective.

Even so, I don't think there was a need for your "daily reminder" embellishment. It appears that the government could legitimately be the target for your wrath but your political icing is a little tiring.

The issue is clearly political in nature Jawa. There is no issue with making this point. People are going to die due to what is essentially an irrelevant (to the circumstances) ideology.

I thought this was the case but I was hoping for someone to turn around and provide me with a miracle. Anxiety rising.

Are you (or anyone living with) a high risk group?

My wife is on immunosuppressants so we believe she is in a high risk group, based on what we've read on gov.uk. But she's not in the 1.5m figure of being high risk enough to receive a letter.

This made me pretty mad. Those people are doing no harm to anyone! They're in the middle of nowhere by themselves! What good does following them around with drones do anyone?

No, it wasn't me. Your last two titles weren't very good though so I agree with whoever did it.

She sounds like me then
Yeah you’re at mercy of employers discretionary/agreement though
The guidance for her (don’t think there’s any for you) is still ‘where possible’ but depending on job that might open to a lot of debate and leaves at mercy of cunty employers

Fake some symptoms?

They were perfectly accurate about events currently ongoing.

Now it’s just promoting the comforting lies from the government. That’s much more ‘good’

Eg the UK government cares about ‘protecting’ the NHS‘ or the other bullsshit slogans their pushing :D

I mean we can see on this very page ‘Stay at Home unless your employer thinks it would be detrimental’ doesn’t have quite the same Zazaza about it does it?

Rather more accurate though

Isn't someone being on immunosuppressants enough for them to be high-risk by default? Which, by that term, should mean anyone living with them should be taking the same measures in case they do get it and pass it on.

Yes that's pathetic. People walking their dogs in that area aren't putting themselves or others at risk. At the same time police are harassing sensible dog walkers, we have bosses of non-esential companies forcing their staff to travel to work on crowded trains.
We need a proper lockdown ASAP.

Nope
Nothing compelling employers to allow this (even if entirely reasonable/possible) or they don’t want it.
It’s all guidance, suggestions, and waffle

It’s part why I find the bullshit ‘strong government honest’ slogans inserted into thread title by an idiot so strawberry floating amusing.

You will have seen that I rarely reply/respond to you, DML, because of a couple of disagreements that we had on the forum before. At the time, mods suggested that we simply refrain from posting to each other and it'd be great if we returned to that approach.

I have updated it for you now because you are clearly unhappy with it.

The reason the thread title was originally changed (as I think you know given you posted in the Feedback thread) was that someone found the mention of death upsetting. I don't think that's unreasonable given the circumstances. The reason that it was locked by a Mod (not me) was that you changed it back when you noticed, which I personally thought was, like, kind of childish to be 100% honest with you?

I understand why you are frustrated with this as it unfolds (we all are) but please don't take it out on the forum, there's no need. Particularly when you're @ing me and I had nowt to do with it.

Originally probably needed changing to be honest as it’d been up for a long time (and was about initial UKresponse) And I’d tried to update periodically but still think it’s shitty of mods to update titles without asking/telling (particular given it wasn’t even my thread title LightWander wanted changed. It was the owner he couldn’t see of You Died’. If he’d asked me I’d have changed it)

And I didn’t change it back. I changed it to the US position to reflect Trump’s nonsense of the day. The topic of discussion at that point in time.

And yeah as I’ve made clear I’m most unhappy at someone repeating strawberry floating Tory propaganda in title.

I wasn’t sure it was you so didn’t @you on purpose to not draw you in as wasn’t sure.

Yeah, it's honestly quite poor on the Government's part that they still aren't enforcing any of this stuff. It's seeming very vague still.
