Have to say I didn't take part in the clapforcarers. Mainly because I'm a miserable bastard but also didn't really see the point. Most of them will be working now, the ones that aren't will be resting. The best way to support the NHS is to stay indoors right now, and later, vote for politicians that will fund it properly. The number of people on my Facebook feed trying to get virtue points for clapping, yet voted for the Tories in the election is frustrating.

I've immense respect and love for NHS workers and carers and they should be given absolutely everything they need to do their jobs effectively, and support for the aftermath too when I imagine a lot of them will likely be suffering mental health issues.

Apparently Donald Trump is going to announce a relaxing of the distancing guidelines in some states tonight according to CNN TV, and this new report:

President Donald Trump told US governors on Thursday his administration was preparing to issue new, potentially more relaxed social distancing guidelines based on geographic risk factors for the novel coronavirus, even as some health experts warn it's too early to allow Americans to congregate in large groups or return to their workplaces.

He's going to go with the notion that this is primarily affecting blue states and then get people in all the states killed.

People were clapping and cheering outside mine and I had no strawberry floating idea why, it wasn't until 5 minutes after when I checked the news that I found out

Like Clinton’s cards, Next is currently shuttered for the foreseeable. As another outlet that has been struggling they may not see out the year either.

Yeah, what a fabulous way to motivate staff and make them in the mood to help the company in a time of crisis.

I don't get why these companies don't see that morale is going to go into free-fall and the likelihood of people volunteering for overtime when they need them in the future is going to tank.
