Just taken my first test. Easy to self administer, should have the results in 30 minutes.

If you find the lateral flow test easy to administer then you're doing it wrong! Unless you feel a strong urge to bring up your guts and the awkward sensation that you've just tried to scrape your brains out of your nose then I'd say you need to give it another shot!

I had to try several times with that one, eventually taping the swab to a broom handle.

I've done a few and I've never been sure if I've stuck it far enough to my nose. I put it in as far as I dare but I'm really squeamish when it comes to my nose so who knows?

I've done about ten tests and if anything it gets worse every time. Hideous way to spend a minute of your life .

Oh yeah it came back negative.

Just in case anyone wondered if I'd died since making the initial post.

Had my second dose of the vaccine on Friday. Feels great knowing I'll be able to fly somewhere in two weeks time.
Anyone got any holidays planned? I might fly to Italy or Spain. Or keep it simple and just get the eurostar to France if the airports are playing up with long queues.

We've had one booked and paid for since late 2018 and the strawberry floating thing keeps getting changed, cancelled or moved :x

Supposed to be happening later this year but I bet it doesn't.

That sucks sorry to hear that. Which country is it? I assume it's on the red list?

It's Amber at the moment. More that flights out there only started again last week, and even then it's one day a week rather than multiple a day, which doesnt line up with the days we have booked. Plus it's B.A., so on top of everything theyll probably go on strike when the time comes.

Edit: @buffalo - I was sure I'd brought it up :? yes I'm joking

I still think it's too risky going abroad. What are you going to do if the country gets put on a quarantine list while you're out there?

What's the likelihood of UK residents needing to quarantine if holidaying internationally?

Hmm not sure I'd like that if it turned red. But I assume it would go from Amber to amber plus first so I won't have to pay for a hotel quarantine as per the red lists. Just got to risk it I reckon.

Was checking the eurostar and they now only do three trains a day to Paris. Suits me tho as it means they won't have the ones runnin at odd hours which are usually the cheapest ones.

Ryan air still seems cheap as chips for flights to Rome like £17 each way.

Sounds like my supervisor might be positive :dread: We've all been isolating since this time last week so I'm just praying I don't start showing symptoms as I have my second jab booked for Saturday and don't want it to be delayed. The person who got diagnosed last week now sounds awful on the phone, constantly wheezing and coughing.

Low if our cases hit rock bottom. Guaranteed if they go high.
