Still covid-free but going to Cyprus next week - between the airports, the planes, the hotel and the bars, it’s fair to say I’ll be coming back with an unwanted souvenir.

I've managed to avoid getting coronavirus too, not been overly cautious either. I hardly even think about coronavirus these days (helps that it's basically no longer newsworthy), quite the turnaround from 2 years ago when fears were vaccines would be many years away.

I've managed to avoid it but I'm not sure how considering how most people at work have had it, no one at university seems to care (I was in the library the other day and someone came in coughing and spluttering and moaning to their friends about how ill they were feeling). I'm still wearing masks when I'm out and if anything I'm being extra careful because I don't want to risk catching it before my year abroad.

My friend in Australia recently caught it and despite having had 3 jabs it hit him pretty hard and he was hospitalized. He's ok now but said it was the worst illness he's ever had.

Went for my latest jab yesterday, and of course the guy doing it wasn't wearing a mask and was sniffly/bunged up. :x

So if I get Covid over the next week I'll know where I caught it from...

How many jabs is everyone up to now? Think I've only been offered 3 so far

Three so far for me.

I'm not sure I would bother with a fourth unless it's been updated.

Just 3 so far.

I've been offered a 4th as part of some of the Moderna trials, but they keep only offering time slots I can't make :x

Five - I'm immunosupressed and I'm better off topping up my antibodies every 3-6 months. I've had Astrazenica, Pfizer and Moderna now.

How much more vaccinated could I be? The answer is none.. more vaccinated.

Feels like things have gone very quiet on the discussion around giving the general population more boosters, given we're likely to see more spikes and more dangerous mutations are still being detected globally it feels like the "pretend it's gone away" feeling at the moment is going to come back to bite us in the arse

Surely not!? Who could have predicted such a thing?

Still positive this morning, a full week after my first positive test. How tedious.

It has absolutely ripped its way through my workplace and I've heard plenty of other stories around the local area. From my personal perspective, this has been by far the worst wave yet, with many more people catching it than at any other time I've known. Obviously, I'm only viewing it through a very limited scope but I do wonder how this wave would compare in reality to the others if mass testing and reporting about it was still a thing.

My wife had an IV drip of antibodies yesterday morning as a preventative measure to protect her from serious risk but she still feels like absolute gooseberry fool. Pretty scary to imagine the state she might be in if she hadn't been given the treatment.

Yeah this is annoying me as well. I feel like they should be offering boosters to everyone over the summer to prevent a resurgence in the autumn and then another booster in the winter.

Seems like loads of us who never had Covid before have finally fallen within the past two weeks.

My other half tested positive for the first time on Wednesday, but I've somehow STILL avoided getting it.

I'm a genetic freak.

You were actually one of the first people to catch it and have been in a coma for two years. This is all a dream, the only way to wake up is to catch the virus!!
