So far I haven't had it, at least that I'm aware of! Just got back from Primavera in Porto though, so we'll see how that tips the scales :dread:

It's dropping people like flies at Primavera Sound my dude, my mate who got out here for week one missed two days of the second week (and a strawberry floating fantabulous Tame Impala set) with it. Hopefully the Portuguese lot get away with it.

Is this your first time too? :(

Aye

How are you feeling?

Neck and shoulders are a bit stiff and a bit of a runny nose but fine apart from that.

Congratulations on the wedding!

I have to ask: what are the current rules on style isolation? Is it all employer-mandated now rather than government?

Thanks! Wedding was in November so the trip was a long time coming!

I’m pretty much exclusively working from home at the mo so not really an issue but i think it’s mainly employer mandated at this point. Gov advice seems to basically be avoid people for 5 days if you can, so strawberry float all.

Edit: thanks drummy too

What's the situation with positive tests now? Used to be you couldn't return to work and meeting people before having a negative test. Now the gov website says to continue about your business after 5 days of the first positive but I'm feeling much better even though my tests still couldn't be a clearer positive. Feels like surely I'm still contagious if there's that much Covid in my throat and nose currently.

The government aren't bothered anymore. The responsible thing to do, I suppose, is ask your employer what they would prefer you to do. If you've any agency in the decision then stay at home, obv.

My workplace is very much pushing WFH if you are even remotely unwell.

My wife just tested positive for Covid :simper:

Treatment has come a long way since two years ago though so I'm not too worried. I'm just hoping she doesn't have to go to the hospital at all. :(

Assuming she's young, healthy and vaccinated, she'll be absolutely fine. Try not to worry.

She's immuno-suppressed and classed as clinically extremely vulnerable :simper: Still, there are new treatments available that weren't earlier in the pandemic so I'm confident she'll be fine :)

Ah, now I understand your worry.

She'll be ok mate, like you said we are in a much different place now to where we were 2 years ago

The NHS should deliver some tablets to your wife I believe.

Hope she will be ok.

Looks like I've got it. Tested negative yesterday, saw some family, started feeling a bit grim last night, tested positive today. For strawberry float's sake. They've all had it in the last 6 months so I'm hoping that they don't get it again, but who knows. I was literally meant to be back to work today (self employed) and got loads to do ideally within a dealine, so this is a huge inconvenience. Hopefully that's all it is.

The faint line appeared within a minute of taking the test which surprised me. The symptoms I've got so far are typical cold-like ones - scratchy throat with a touch of a cough, sniffly nose, bit of a mild headache. Nothing drastic, no loss of taste or trouble breathing or anything like that at the moment.
