She would have been ~5 at time of Blitz. She didn't "go back to work"

I think my favourite thing is it doesn't make an sense.

They went to shelter when they needed to and returned to work when it was safe. Exactly as people are saying we should act now.

They didn't stay at work during the bombings due to their Blitz spirit.

You've got to hope that sooner or later people will get over their strawberry floating obsession with the war but I'm beginning to doubt it will ever happen. Anyone know if when the first and second world wars were going on the old gammons at the time were banging on about the Crimean war or some other 19th century conflicts?

Scotland to enter new five-tier Covid alert system

Scotland is to enter a new five-tier system of coronavirus alert levels, Nicola Sturgeon has confirmed.

The new model will come into force from 2 November, when temporary restrictions on the hospitality trade are to expire.

It features five levels of measures - from "level zero" to four - to be applied in different areas of Scotland depending on the spread of the virus.

The top level would be close to a full lockdown, but the aim is for schools to remain open at all levels.

The first minister said the new strategy was about "striking the best balances we can" between suppressing the virus and minimising wider harms to businesses and individuals.

Wife's work have now "advised" employees to turn off their NHS track and trace apps while in work and that isolating is not a legal requirement. I've told her someone needs to report them ASAP so they deservedly get strawberry floated in the A.

That's the same for most work places.

If you are using full PPE you don't need it on, if you are not you do.

If the work place is considered “safe” then yeah, you don’t have to wear PPE.

Weren't police forces advised to turn off the app too? They aren't working in Covid secure environments and/or wearing PPE.

Zilnad's post read to me like it was a data tracking type concern from the employer since there's no reason to not have the app in the background even if the workplace in theory is super low risk.

Although as I understand the app, it uses the Google / Apple method to work so is anonymous and shouldn't have data tracking concerns.

The only reason I can see them wanting it to be turned off is so that if a member of staff tests positive and reports it to the app then a large amount of their workforce won't be told to isolate - which is backed up by them saying to ignore such advise.

Basically they're putting productivity ahead of well-being.
