Pretty much the whole world has moved on from regular facemask usage since Covid became a milder disease. The only countries that are still heavily using facemasks are the ones that were culturally predisposed to wearing them in general before hand.

I did think this too. Can confirm it has nothing to do with the UK in particular; can't remember the last time I saw a mask.

I do sometimes think about wearing one but nowadays when I go out it isn't generally to do things where wearing a mask is conducive to a good time.

I still see a few masks out and about, it's minimal but there are clearly still some people wearing them semi regularly

I had a patient ask for a mask today or of courtesy to me because they had a cold. I went to get her one and the box was a couple of months out of date - that was unthinkable twelve months ago.

The only people who wear a mask regularly that I know are clinically extremely vulnerable.

I do occasionally see some people wearing masks out and about, but almost exclusively only over their mouths and not covering their noses

I think i contracted it here at home rather than out and about tbh, so i'm not sure it could have been avoided.

i think there is a social issue with wearing a mask everywhere in public
you are cutting yourself off from social interaction; this might be a positive for you! but i would be sad if everyone was doing it.

Bold of you to think I had any social interaction before masks ;) I actually feel more confident wearing a mask and I'm more likely to be social with one on. Outside of wearing it for health reasons (the uni library is a cesspool of people coughing. the journey in on the bus isn't much better) I also see them as an accessory, no different from wearing a hat or sun glasses.

Please do not post this in the "No Context" thread

This is what I've seen. Utterly stupid behaviour.

"I'm still wearing a mask"

Great!

"Not properly though!!"

Temp check this morning, 37.5C

strawberry floating hell though, while i'm pleased and relieved my temp has dropped, that was the worst night i've had in years.

Glad you are on the mend. Don't know about you, but I always get crazy hallucinations when my temperature goes haywire. I have a recurring one where The Borrowers come to visit, all these little people running around my room. Hate it.

Cheers.

Thankfully my night was hallucination free, that would have just made things even worse.

Someone came to the office on Monday despite not feeling well and now they have been off for two days and it is confirmed they have COVID. Why do people need to be martyrs all the time.
