They were from Nottinghamshire and DESERVED THE SHAME.

Those of you outside the East Midlands tri-county area won't understand the animosity.

The shame of going to Derbyshire?

The shame of going to the greatest county in England!

Makes me laugh and cry (evertym) in equal measure.

The last click and collect we did featured a young girl with a mask on her chin, where it seemingly lives 99% of the time as it was so stretched that when she put it on (only after seeing we were wearing ours*) It would immediately fall completely off her face as soon as she said a word.

*I actually wear two masks at once now, one is my usual one with changeable filter layer, the other a standard blue medical disposable over the top.

I should start wearing two masks myself actually given how braindead the majority of other people in the country seem to be.

Wearing more masks yourself won't really help overcome the problems caused by other people not wearing theirs, but if it makes you feel better then go for it.

Just make sure you can actually breathe yourself!

Wearing a mask does protect you slightly so wearing two can't hurt. The point about masks though is it's mainly about protecting other people so anyone who will be interacting with other people for their job like a supermarket delivery driver needs to wear them.

It's a balancing act, whilst additional layers may offer a degree of further protection in terms of what you are breathing in it does also make it harder for you to breathe in. Additionally with multiple masks you may be more inclined/required to fiddle with them more regularly which will undercut the benefit

Big fan of the "Act as if you have it" message.
So should we all stop going to the supermarket and work then?

I can't remember the specifics but wearing two masks might be counter-productive. There was a study into the efficacy of masks and I seem to remember that they found that if the material was too thick, it ended up forcing the air outwards around you to a greater degree than it should, spreading your breath further. Would I be right in thinking that two masks would do the same due to all the extra layers?

Just wear a snorkel. That's what I have been doing.

This post is exempt from the No Context Thread.

That's the sort of thing you'd see someone wearing on the london underground in normal times.

With Morrisons enforcing face mask for customers, hope they do it for staff as well.
As in my local Morrisons we have two dudes who don't wear masks, not because they have medical issues, it's because they've got big beards and it irritates their faces.
Also don't get how staff on the tills don't have to wear a mask because of the plastic shield in front of the tills, because the side of the tills where you pack your bags they're unprotected.

If you've got a car, use click and collect. We've not actually been in a supermarket properly since last April. All you have to deal with then is a single staff member being near your car.

All supermarkets are banning people without face masks. Let's see if they challenge people who say they are medically exempt.

Wish my image sig would work

I think if you can do it then click and collect or delivery are great but we've struggled with them since the pandemic started. We can hardly every book a slot for delivery or collection, with neither of us working from home the hours we have available to us are limited and they always seem to be booked up now. Even when we have managed to get something the level of substitutions seems to have gone through the roof!
