Yeah I don't understand why so many people are doing calls with the webcam on, it seems unnecessary.

On our Zoom meetings, I am now the only one (out of around 20 people) that still refuses to put the webcam on.

I'm toying with the idea of doing one of our managers meetings tomorrow in black tie.

For.some reason the webcam Mic won't work on my laptop, so I just use a headset with no video. I was going to make a full YOOTOOBER setup with silly mic on a stand, loads of gamer crap behind me and A baseball cap.

I'm still trying to figure out whether it's the people who look directly into the camera who are the psychopaths, or those who have their gaze slightly offset due to them looking at other people on-screen.

I'm leaning very much towards the former. It's unnerving.

Do you remember vine? It's basically that but owned by China.

If not it's a site that lets you share really short video clips.

Vines were very short videos weren't they? TikTok videos can go up to a minute can't they?

There is some funny stuff on TikTok but also a lot of absolute trash.

I'm gonna put myself out there and say that some of the stuff on TikTok is extremely funny. It's a large minority, but some of the things I've seen have been fantastic.

Oh yeah it's not a bad platform for genuinely really funny, creative videos.

Just that I don't know if I like that my mum, who is in her 60s, is maybe now all over it.

My problem with tik tok is that the videos they have used to advertise it have been utter gooseberry fool. That "alright bruv" one where someone was a talking to themselves as a bartender or something? strawberry floating cringe the whole way through.

Also... after six weeks without any senses of taste or smell, THEY'VE STARTED COMING BACK!

:toot: :toot: :toot: :toot: :toot: :toot: :toot: :toot: :toot:

Don't want to sound ungrateful, but I just meal prepped eight days of lunch/dinner of boring food because I couldn't taste anything anyway :fp:

But still... :toot: :toot: :toot: :toot: :toot:

I assume you're currently eating as much cheese and cake as humanly possible?
I know I would be :D .

Glad to see you getting back to normal.

Doesn't sound ungrateful at all!

That's a very long time to lose your sense of smell. Did you get the other symptoms for longer than normal too?

You should fill in the NHS survey in the opening post too. :)

I'm surprised at the lack of reaction to the news of the likelihood of digital distancing being required until the end of the year. Did people just assume this would be the case?

I think it's going to be going on for along time after that too.

Yeah we are going to be looking at some form of distancing, restrictions and lock down for a good long while now.

Maybe I'm wrong here but as it's a pretty simple thing to do I think most people will just accept some social distancing for quite a while if it means you aren't in danger of possibly infecting someone else unknowingly. I love the cinema for example but I'm fine with them having empty seats beside everyone and only being half full.
I think it shows how the public are mostly considerate of others and are willing to put up with some hardships so the hospitals aren't overrun and people are safe.
