It wouldn’t be as bad, but it would have still been a gooseberry fool show, a lesser gooseberry fool show is still a gooseberry fool show.

Corbyn was a moron, he would wouldn’t be self serving like Johnson, but he would still have strawberry floated it, not to the same extent, but still would have strawberry floated it.

Let’s not pretend like he would have been awesome or even competent because he wouldn’t have been.

As I say, less gooseberry fool, but still gooseberry fool, but not self serving so that would would have been one hell of a tick in the not gooseberry fool column.

I also didn't say "as bad", I said "both are bad" arguments.

I didn't rate Corbyn as a leader but the policies were sound enough. And he would have cared about people.

Would he have been amazing?

No.

Would he have done a MUCH MUCH better job?

Yes.

My nan, who lives in Sunderland, has a sore throat.

This is apparently because she's "not getting to talk to people as much".

A Corbyn government would never have got to this position because it would have been taken down by the press for considerably less than Johnson has been allowed to get away with.

It just needs a basic level of competence, attention to detail and pragmatism. That kind of thing doesn't get you elected though.

YouGov have done a poll and found that government approval is at 30% with 51% of people unhappy.

Labour really do have a shot at the next election. It could be a May situation again where its whoever can form a coalition wins.

That was unthinkable a few months ago, but now people are genuinelly being affected by Tory incompetence, they are starting to get angry.

And that's without Brexit.

Just got relayed this tale of a friend of a friend trying to get a test:

Guy from Cheltenham wanted to get a test this morning as he was symptomatic. He got told that there were no tests locally and he would have to go to Derby, 100 miles away. Thought strawberry float that so phoned around the local areas and discovered that actually there was space for testing in Swindon, still a trip but only 30 miles away. Then he tries to register for a test at Swindon through the online system but it keeps failing to issue him a QR code which apparently he is required to show on site in order to get the test. Eventually after trying multiple times he gets the system to book him a test in Swindon after entering his home address as being from ... Edinburgh! When he arrives at the testing centre it is a ghost town - just people sat around doing nothing. They have the capacity to test up to 500 people per day apparently but are using a tiny fraction of that because no strawberry floater can book a test!

What makes it even worse is that presumably if he does get a positive result back then it will get marked down on the stats for Edinburgh and not Cheltenham as that is the address he had to put into the system in order to book the bloody thing in the first place! :fp:

The system is a complete shambles, someone was sent to the testing centre here in town from Dorchester which is 45 miles away (was in the local paper today).

I was genuinely expecting a punchline around Exeter.

It's hard to believe, but not everything in the world revolves around Exeter ;)

Just heard the head of the WHO (I think it was) warning against Covid fatigue. However he said "at the end of June, cases hit an all time low".

It's driven me absolutely crazy!

My Nan’s not going to see the morning after being rushed to A&E, I’m not sure if it’s Covid related or not but there’s nothing they can do now apparently because she’s so frail.

I’ve managed to get some cover at work tomorrow so was going to head North to just be there for my mum for the day. Am I allowed under the current restrictions?

Part of me is a bit upset so just thinking I don’t really care if I can or not, but I’d like to prepare if I’m to get some pushback from police or something in the area.
