It's actually true that we only learn history from statues. Thanks to the Churchill statue, I know that Chelsea Football Club was formed in 1905.

Isn't it a bit ass backward with the new rules around PCR tests. As I understand it, you can only get a PCR now if you have symptoms following a positive lateral flow. But surely its better to only allow people without symptoms but with a positive lateral flow to get the PCR? Otherwise the PCR is now only going to be used to confirm almost dead certain lateral flows?

It would surely be better to try and stop asymptomatic spread?

Harry Enfield is trending on Twitter, and it’s because Michael Fabricant has piped up.

Spat my drink out just now listening to a caller on LBC. Went something like this:

"Why is the liberal left constantly dragging down the people working hard to save lives but they support 200k people being killed every year by abortion?"

The Royal College of Nursing has called for its members to be exempt from the latest change to isolation rules. Nurses should remain covered by the existing rules (described as seven-day isolation, although in reality six full days minimum). The RCN general secretary and chief executive, Pat Cullen, said:

Health and care workers must be exempt from a reduction of the seven-day self-isolation. By the government’s own estimate, almost a third of individuals are infectious five days after symptoms starting. Health and care workers will fall into that group in large numbers and there can be minimal room for error or complacency. Current and growing workforce pressures must not drive a reduction in isolation requirements in an unsafe way.

I don't understand how this works. It says 5 days isolation but only if you test negative on days 5 and 6. So that's 6 days isolation?

And is that from symptoms starting or the result of the PCR?
