The anti-vaxx/anti-lockdown/New World Order nutjobs have taken it that way.

That's fair, I can certainly see an initial burst of activity to be followed by much lower levels of general activity than previous years.

One time, they asked me to fill in a form right, but I didn't want to do it, so I picked it up and threw it in the sea.

Do you ever think that suicide might be the answer?

Aye sometimes, aye.

Really, when?

When I've seen you looking all depressed like.

I won't be booking anything until I have at least my first jab, but the thought of possibly being able to go out to Florida for a fortnight in September is absolutely something that puts a smile on my face.

:dread: There's nowhere in the world more likely to be teeming with exotically lethal covid variants by September than Florida.

Got 10 days booked to go to Cyprus in late June, bit of a coin flip at the minute. Will probably knock it back a year. Again.

Seems like Ireland has changed the Oxford vaccine 2nd dose date from 4 weeks after the first dose to 12 weeks now.

I'm not sure what other countries have copied this idea but good to see it happening. Hopefully more will follow.

You're in the UK though? So that's standard policy since January.

Other countries that have approved it have not gone with this 12 week policy but stuck with 4 weeks.

Quebec (but not all of Canada) is doing this policy and seems like Ireland now is too looking at the HSE brochure on it.

So my guess is due to how recent the change is (the brochure was updated on the 1st March) that they've looked at Public Health Scotland's data and decided this strategy makes sense.

EDIT:

Covid: Germany approves AstraZeneca vaccine for over-65s

Mrs Merkel said Germany would also follow the UK example of stretching the interval between vaccine doses, to offer as many people as possible an initial shot.

I went into my office today, as I had a particular piece of work I had to do, and I could only do it from our actual work network. It felt really strange, but I put my work clothes on and it was a much needed sense of the 'before times'! There were only 3 of us in an office built for 300, but it really lifted my spirits to be back at my actual desk.

Anyway, the real point of this is that I got to talk to a woman I've not seen in 18 months who is a huge wrestling fan. We spoke from a sizable distance, both masked, for about an hour an a half about all the wrestling events from the last year. I think we pissed off the only other person in the office as we were talking from such a distance, but wrestling is wrestling and it needs discussion.

So basically, what I'm saying is, the GRcade wrestling thread and the wrestling community around the world are still the greatest thing ever. 8-)

In an ironic twist, I can now go but my brother-in-law is going to spoil it by not having the 2 jabs in time. Typical.

Swear to God man I strawberry floating hate teachers.

They've just introduced mandatory testing as a precursor to bringing all students after Easter break (so in about 5 weeks time), and they're all strawberry floating moaning about how it's an invasion of privacy and how it's pointless if the students don't get tested, or because their partners don't get tested so it's pointless.

The penalty for testing positive? 2 weeks paid leave with no expectation of even setting cover work.

strawberry floats sake, 2.5M dead, millions out of work or strawberry floated over in other ways and they're strawberry floating moaning about spitting in a tube.

Such strawberry floating whingers.

That must be great to be able to do that. I’ve never come across any one else that is either a fan or wants to admit it through work

Yeah we were meant to be going to a festival in Barcelona in June but it got canned earlier in the week. Mercifully hadn't bothered with flights and accommodation as we saw the writing on the wall quite early on.

This is so strange, we have an almost opposite stance from our Teachers as in, they want the children to be back to school (primary and senior classes were back last week and the rest is next week) and while they wouldn't be against a mandatory masks for older students, until the medical evidence supports doing it, they are fine.

Uh, how about a little strawberry float off with the teacher bashing?

Teacher's have been utterly shafted during this pandemic and the only moaning has been at the lack of protection they have been offered by the government. It's not safe for people to be within 2m of each other or to have anyone in your house with you, or meet more than 1 other person outdoors, but apparently it's perfectly safe for teachers to be in an enclosed space all days with 30+ kids from different households all mixing together? Get strawberry floated. Teachers have been sold up the creek by a government that doesn't give a gooseberry fool about them or the kids they are trying to educate, the only thing the government cares about is business.

Teachers want to be teaching, they want to be helping kids learn as well as keeping them safe, this is the position of the vast majority of people in the teaching profession.

That 1% pay rise for the NHS workers is strawberry floating disgusting, made somehow worse this morning by the BBC actually defending it and telling a nurse to her face that she should be grateful she's getting anything. Appalling. Meanwhile Matt Hancock's mates get ££££££.
