The human brain is conditioned to read from left to right, it's not at all strange to read it that way instinctively. Obviously, it's not hard to work out but it's shitty piece of design.

It's average at worst.

Yeah people usually read left to right, but that doesn't mean you can't guide people's eyes around an image using colour or other such means. That's what that good design does. A shitty designer wouldn't have taken that into account.

It's not illegible obviously, but the space-width distance between "wash", "cover", and "make" ends up meaning it's less clear than it could be.

I would have made the three posters equal in width, then centered the illustrations inside of them.

This is definitely in the "shitty design" category. It's not appallingly bad but the whole point is that this should be conveying a very clear and concise message that people will get at a glance - it fails quite badly to achieve that goal!
