Eat Out To Help Out is back, bigger and better than ever before!
In Northern Ireland.

BBC News wrote:As shops reopen across Northern Ireland, Stormont has announced that every adult can apply for a £100 voucher to spend on the high street.

People over the age of 18 are eligible for the scheme, which could open at the end of the summer, Economy Minister Diane Dodds says.

She also revealed details about a holiday-at-home voucher scheme.

It will allow households to claim back 50% off a stay of two nights or more in certified accommodation, up to the value of £100.

Vouchers will also be issued, offering 50% off visits to attractions or tourism experience providers, up to the value of £20.

The high street voucher is designed to encourage spending at retail and hospitality outlets, which have been adversely affected by lockdown measures.

I'll nab the £100 high street voucher, probably won't bother with the holiday and attractions vouchers.

One of those distressing statistics that only becomes more so when you consider how many of those people simply did not need to die.

Is it? My dad's friend keeled over and died within 24 hours at 60 with no underlying health problems.

Plenty of people have been killed that weren't decrepit.

I think people are very desensitised to it all TBH, because the enormity of it is hard to comprehend.

It’s opposite Parliament.

"For two weeks in April, England and Wales saw an average of 1,185 deaths from the virus every day – one every 73 seconds. Eight years of life were taken every minute."

Harrowing. :(

Even for the callous, ghoulish libertarians who want to "prioritise the economy" and their own personal wealth ahead of people’s health there must be a realisation that 1.3 million years of lost life is actually not a good thing.

Blimey down to 40 or over. I'm 36 so I'm kind of expecting to be able to get the jab by the end of May at this rate.

I'm sorry to hear that.

Forgive my interruption. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to be briefed by Mr. Madnerley

They just won't believe the stats. They say that the daily stats are wrong because people could get Covid and then get hit by a bus and get included but then dismiss the ONS ones because doctors are being forced to put Covid.

Honestly people have told me that the actual deaths are only a few hundred at most.

Amusement under late capitalism is the prolongation of work.

Do you have a single fact to back that up?

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Loving the idea of taking that "could have been hit by a car" argument out to its most butterfly effect extreme. "Yeah, well, if Covid hadn't happened, maybe aliens would have blown up the planet!"
